That would be....not awful. Hayes should still be good during that entire contract. I don't see it being out of line with what a good 2C would make. The best course of action may still be to trade him, but that isn't an outlandish contract by any means

I just have a feeling Gorton will surprise this deadline.. Hoping he gets creative and finds a way to keep Hayes or Zucc and finds ways to relieve some cap space and allow for a UFA signing this off-season. I do t see NYR letting them go for 2nd rounders. Maybe offers are too low-ball
