Playing MacDonald ahead of Myers was a really dumb idea, that only the dumbest of people would defend.

Another reliable vet who will be out of the league soon after the Flyers finally give up on him.

MacDonald is not the problem on that pairing, Gostisbehere is. Not a great situation to break in an rookie with the way that Gostisbehere is playing.

I'd like to see a closer replay. On that one look it looked like he might have missed him. Hard to tell though.
- MJL

If he brushed him it was lower than his face level. Looked like a *&$&*&#%@ dive. I’ll look again though.

I see guys around the league do that all the time.

I think it is misguided energy that helps no one on the team.

Good post-game clip of Hart. Took some responsibility. He wants the crease every game.

Ghost needs to get his head on straight. Breaking his stick like a child does nothing except show everyone your inability to handle the pressure and work to overcome it. He is in a tough emotional place right now for whatever reason. He needs to get out of his own head and just follow his instincts.

Just shows me he's frustrated. Nothing more.

just gonna' say this went exactly as how i expected including hart getting torched and removed before the first was over. none of the goals were his fault, and if you think they were then you need to get a clue.

the first period was like watching the soviet red army team skate rings around a hapless unprepared north american squad. then they coasted the rest of the game, and got some help from the officials to boot.

no vasi, hedman or point, 2nd of b2b on the road, and they embarrassed the flyers. another 5 spot against them too.

amac is just brutal. that pairing with ghost is atrocious.

elliott had an excellent game except for the pp goal backbreaker.

ugh.

I’ve said since Ghost got here. Ghost isn’t a first pair defenseman. If Ghost doesn’t score, he offers very little and I stand by this.

With this said, the Flyers had pressure in the offensive zone prior to the first goal. There was a loss puck a couple feet from Mac. Mac hesitated to act. Mac would have easily beat the Tampa forward that was quicker to act. Play goes the other way. We get scored on.

Second goal, Mac doesn’t tie up his man. We get scored on.

Wasn’t a very good first for Mac at all.

If we lose, fine. But to lose that way, at the determination of the officials by both their blatant missed calls and horse poop weak calls, is unnacceptable

Kid is mature beyond his age. I have no worries about him. The team in front of him is a different story.

Provorov has to check that stick. A lot of pucks getting away from him by not settling it. It’s cost him and the team a lot this season.

he lost the puck battle in the near corner on the first goal, too. he sucked at both ends.

I can't blame Hart but he was off tonight. He makes at least one of those saves when he is on his game. MacDonald is not brutal at all. He's playing on a pairing where he has to battle for every puck and retrieve every puck because Gostisbehere refuses to engage and go back for a puck or battle for a puck. Gostisbehere is the issue on that pairing not MacDonald. With that being said, MacDonald needs to be better around the net on the Killorn goal.

he had been much better of late, but the last couple of games are like before his rebound. not good. seriously, gudas has looked like the best dman out there.

Refs, the league, whomever. This doesn’t make for exciting to take away goals for phantom calls. There was no goaltender interference on what should have been a goal.

A number of Couturier trips were ignored in the third.

Did Barkann just blame Elliott for the loss?

Might want to watch the replay of that first goal and watch how MacDonald ties up the puck to wait for support that never comes while Gostisbehere just watches. Two TB players overtake him while Gostisbehere makes little effort to get out to block the shot and the puck deflects off of him in the net. Blaming MacDonald there is absurd.

the only goal he had a chance on was the 2 on 1 snipe. and i'm not gonna' say he should have had it.

i'm not absolving ghost. he's been poor, too my criticism of amac is not just tonight.

Thought the same exact thing in the 1st. Flyers never get close if TB doesn't shut it down after the 1st period.
