Yes they have and it's mostly due to Gostisbehere. They switched up the pairings in the 2nd. Gudas is more physical than MacDonald so maybe he'll have better luck because Gostisbehere refuses to engage and battle for the puck in the defensive zone.

Look man I know you like MacDonald, and I've defended him a fair amount of times on this board, and generally I agree that his play isn't as bad as the fans say, but geez he's been real bad recently. He's giving up at least two or three prime scoring chances a game the past few weeks

I disagree. He's has two plays lately that he needs to bear down on. Tonight on the Killorn goal and the other game where he flubbed a D to D pass but the puck was on edge. He's been hung out to dry so many times by Gostisbehere and left to pretty much battle for pucks by himself in the defensive zone.

Well 2nd period has been all Flyers. Literally a complete reversal of the 1st but without the 3 goals

Defending at the blueline is not just on the defenseman. If there is no back pressure and support from a forward then a defenseman needs to back in. It's a team game. If a team has no neutral zone presence like we've seen numerous times tonight and is able to gain speed then a defenseman has to back in.

Been watching Ghost in the D zone this game. He is so not engaged. He will not go into an area and battle for the puck.
