It seemed like there was a lot of hype ..at the beginning of the season(media) was leading that charge ..but not exclusively!..with the acquisition of J.T..the young guns being a year more experienced..and as the season progressed through the early stages ..our young players were doing exactly that! Matthews marner kappy and Reilly were looking good!. they have been pretty consistent!J..T has came in as pretty much advertised..and with the recent acquisition of muzzin who has fit in nicely!..they seemed to be ready for a more consistent approach to play ..in saying all that ..any concerns that we're not any further than we were than last year's standings same point totals actually ..a few in the early stages of the season were talking about we could out score teams to gain wins..but the leafs as of today do not have anyone in the top ten scoring ..is it Babcock? or maybe his assistant coaches? or lockeroom culture?..its odd to me..thought they'd be better .Any ideas as to why they haven't really progressed to the next level?

Marlies goaltending is still (frank)ing awful.

But at least Sandin and Liljegren are both playing.

I agree. Leafs looked unstoppable the first month of the season. The thing is, teams learn. They study. Opponents saw how the Leafs used the stretch pass....created 2 on 1s....spread out the rink. Look how Phoenix played Saturday. Sat back. kept the Leafs in a slower, half rink game. Took away the odd man rushes.
And this is more like playoff tight checking play. Leafs will have to figure out how to be creative offensively when teams create that shell. They have 2 months to become more than just a run and gun team. If they don't learn to adapt, they will be one round and done again. Because, Boston already knows how to adjust to the playoffs. Leafs have to learn it.
My Hawks had the same learning curve. 2009 they found out to Beat Detroit, they couldn't do it the way they played the regular season. But, the next year, 2010....they took what they learned and took it all the way to the Cup

Now, I hesitate to discuss this with many of my Leafs Buds on here, cuz any time you suggest Leafs are not 100% perfect and God's own creation, they throw a fit and get Butt-hurt and insulting. But, that's the way I see it. Leafs need to learn how to win, when not playing run and gun. If they don't....Stanley will only be in town when sitting at the Hall. Not paraded around the rink.

TSN reporting Hossa was on Cyclosporine for his skin problem. Thats a pretty nasty immune system blocker used for organ transplant patients.
