Agree, it won't take long. I can call it from home within 10 seconds. Review all scoring plays. Get it right.

100% agree.

I don't know

Can you repeat the question?

- GreatGigInTheSky

Can the Leafs avoid collapsing in game 7, with a lead in the 3rd period.

TBH, there are no easy matchups in the playoffs, and they could exit 1st round again.

Wrong. I absolutely want it reviewed. It'll take, at most, 5 seconds. It could literally be done before the players get to their bench and celebrate.

Take as much control as possible away from the on ice idiots.

EDIT: And most importantly, get the (frank)ing call right!

- GreatGigInTheSky

You and I have a much different concept of 5 seconds. They look at every angle. They call Toronto. They call their parents with whom they haven't spoken in years, and take calls from drunk exes. These things take far more than 5 seconds.

How long is a high-stick that played the puck reviewable for? If I kept the puck in at the line with a high-stick and we played on for 30 seconds keeping zone control, is that reviewable? Is there a proximity to the net?

It's simple to say, "Everything should be reviewable", but it's completely impractical, and would piss everyone off far more than these few incidents that occur.

I hate Boston just as much as anyone who isn't UG in here. And I guess Rick James.

But we don't want more reviewable plays that bring a play back. The offside review is terribly implemented. Would we introduce high sticks, too? What about penalties that led to goals? Slew foots? Hand passes?

It was a missed call, and it sucks that it went the Bruins way.

There should be no such thing as missed calls.

Honestly, it's the wishful desire to have all goals properly reviewed and pronounced a good goal (which is the ideal aspiration) vs the fact that I think it's impractical and would seriously and negatively affect the game.

I think he's right that you want this as an aim, but I don't believe we're quite at a state yet where we could enact a system that immediately can pronounce a goal good or bad. As a fan, when I jump and celebrate and accidentally spill my $11 beer, I'd like to know the goal counted, not is going to be under review for 2 minutes (or 5 seconds as was the initial statement).

The thing is that there are so many calls in a game that are incorrect, it's hard to pick and choose where that battle can begin. If you deployed a team of remote referees and linesmen to watch a game and remotely whistle a play dead or a penalty or an icing or a puck out of play or, or, or . . .then maybe, I guess? Anyway, that's the gist of it.

Its either review all goal related plays or just dont bother at all IMO. The offside reviews are the worst thing in hockey right now....

I'd be aiming for Laine too if I was Ottawa....I was thinking the same trade.

Must be the OV water.

Well if I recall the 7 games last year Anderson carped the bed in three of the seven games including game 7. I believe he’s a better goalie now.

that's not a bad trade for Ottawa..

Winnipeg, might have problems trying to re-sign both Stone and Duchene

Laine is having one of the worst defensive seasons but it would at least be something substantial back.

A lot of risk trading for two players who could walk when they have all the power in the Laine contract talk.
