Tanking- losing intentionally or not competing

Keeping this line up is close to not competing.
Especially if we have draft capital and better players in Rochester.

agreed but watching this team since the win streak.......

it's best for this team long term to get a top 10 pick instead of back into the 8th spot and get thrashed by tampa

Kinda
There’s not a big difference between picking 10ish vs picking 16ish

Only in Buffalo does the fans analysis of a season go like this:

Can we win the Cup this year? Yes, Root for wins. No, root for a dismal finish so we can draft high.

Why can't we root for wins in a season other than as a cup contender. Just winning games is fun. Do you remember the joy when the Bills made the playoffs? Was that a bad thing?

Would having these young core players exposed to the intensity of playoff hockey be a bad thing BEFORE they have a cup contending roster?

I swear to God, Norwood did more to destroy the collective psyche of this town than Bethlehem Steel and Trico combined.

unfortunately, there's a lot of truth to that statement

I don't think he has a lot of room down there for beefing up the roster...in addition, players like smith and hunwick, mitts and Thompson, among others, I believe are eligible for the ahl playoffs...

imo, he owes it to his nhl team to try and help them with an acquisition or two with the understanding that it won't be a high-priced rental

Good post

I just think jbotts stays the course

Definitely depends on how many points we ecumilate before the deadline

Marcus Pettersson has more points with the Pens then Sprong has with the Ducks. Pettersson addressed an issue the Pens had. Maybe that’s why a trade was made. Food for thought.

No, seeing the Bills break the drought wasn't fun. We should have picked 2 places higher instead

I’m ok selling off some guys if it’s decent value, or just clearing space moving forward

For example,
we pretty clearly have 4 guys we’d like to see on the 4th line right now that are gonna play
So if they were to move one of Larsson, Girgs, or (please, please, please) Sobotka...
then that’s cool
It would keep Thompson or Smith from getting benched nightly

Moves like that make sense to me

This they have. Only silver lining from that butt kicking the other night is that the Rangers have been playing like a top 10 NHL team these past few weeks. Playing the Pens tough today as well.

I booked flights in September for this week. I’m just happy it’s going to be 80-85 all week. More excited to play tpc Tampa and innisbrook. Get my high fade working early this year.

So instead of picking Allen 8th you were happy laying an egg against the Jags and then having
To trade Cordy Glenn and do all of the maneuvering it took to get into the top 10 to draft him ? Interesting. How did the playoff experience work out for the Bills this year ?

How are the Devils and Avs doing this year ?

#dignifiedtank

"We just really like the make up if this lockerroom "
"We believe in this team and they believe in each other"
"We've had great chemistry this season"
"Its up to these guys in this lockerroom to pull thru and guide us to the playoffs "

Basically were gonna keep these turds.
Aim for 79 points
16 points to spare

Bringing up Olofsson or Nylander to play on line4 (in a defensive role) doesn’t help us “compete” though
And if you’re bringing them up for the top9,
then you’re replacing Tage or Smith
It’s questionable at best that either would come up & be an improvement over guys like Sheary or your boy Pommer

And not trading 1sts for rentals isn’t “tanking” or trying not to compete
The type of deal for a guy that can help us moving forward might not be available at the deadline
If it is... great
If not... we wait till the draft

Love the venue. My brother has had seasons down there for ten years. I’ll be at the kings bolts game Monday too.

Truth be told was the city not getting a BassPro store where The Aud was.
You could just see the collective soul of the city melt to nothingness.

I agree, but:

We haven't won 2 games in a row since December.

Opening a 7 game home stand, longest in team history with a 7-3 loss

Book ending it with a 6-2 loss

Remember how much fun the draft lottery was? Was that a bad thing?

What is this "winning" thing you speak of?
