we're trading Eichel on WGR now
- feetontheair22

Trade him for mc David. He wants out of Edmonton. I just called Rogers and cancelled NHL center ice.

For the last month, I spent most of the time on my phone instead of watching eh game. sooooooo boring style of play.

Key word: Should.
- BeadyEyedDouche

32 points in 58 games and a +4 as an 18 year old is a fine start.

And Eichel is on pace for what, 90 some points? If they can actually get him some help, he doesn't need to be generational.

A good grill is your friend, douche bag. Invest in one. That’s all I’m saying. I’m also drunk and hate the Sabres now. They stink and I can’t take it anymore

OK... There is one defenseman out of the 7 they will need..... and by the way... NONE of these defensemen have played a decent defensive game in months
- rapperray

I don't think Risto is a #1, but he's certainly top 4.

Let's not absolve the forwards of any atrocious play in the D zone, though. They're just as guilty.

I think McDavid is the only player that is generational. I think Schief, Eichel, Matthews, Barkov, Pettersson can all be lumped together into the franchise category. I think Dahlin is the closest you can get to a generational d-man however and I think he will be the best player on this team in a few years and that is not a slight against Eichel in the least. I think the Sabres have two of the top 10 players in the league going forward here.

Or just drop $200 every other year. Good poop and maintenance pay dividends in the long run.

Botts hired Housley. Thats on Botts.

If Botts ties himself to Housley then Botts is done too.

90 points is 90 points.

It's not like the NHL has suddenly started calling the clutching and grabbing again.

Should we discount all the 100 point seasons Perreault had, since the goalies were mostly atrocious?

And a franchise D can go a long way in making things right.

When's the last time we had one of those?

There is an argument to be had here. Especially with Gretzky. They were shooting at 5'6" goalies with pee-wee pads.

They reduced goalie pads by the smallest amount possible over the past year and scoring is already well above the average over the past several years.

You're correct, and I forgot about the goalie pads.

Bottom line, they need to get that number one line some help, for starters anyway.
