I'd sign him as a UFA come July 1st though, if the price is right.
but yeah, keep your picks and prospects.

Meh.... Habs could use a big right handed winger, but if you play Hayes at C you're taking time away from Kotkaniemi and Danault and potentially Suzuki and Poehling... and the left side is pretty crowded already

of course, you sign a guy, you have to let one go. they already have 10 forwards signed for next year. but I wouldn't have any problem replacing a small one by a bigger one, wether he plays center or wing is irrelevent. you can always move them around.
true that a righthanded winger would be better though.

I think it was poulet yesterday who mentioned Puljujarvi, it would be interesting to see what the cost would be and if he could come into his own on a different team

He is on place for 50 pt season this year, not what we need if we have youth coming

How many 6'04 right handed 20 year old forwards who showed enough promise to be selected 4th overall 2 years ago do they have?

if they want Hudon straight up, we have a deal. otherwise they can keep him.

in this new NHL, if you're not good enouh to crack the Oiler's lineup and play with McJesus, you're simply not good enough, period. I couldn't care less if he was picked 4th or 40th.
why not sign Yakupov? same reason.

That's a very good point but somehow I think it would cost more than Hudon

Which is fine, all signs point to bust, hes just the type of player they need to add to the top 6, except one that can score...

This is where I see this team in 2 years, at which point hopefully they can legitimately enter the conversation as cup contender...

Domi Kotkaniemi ???
Drouin Suzuki Gallagher
Byron Danault Shaw
Lehkonen Poehling Armia

Mete Weber
??? Brook
Romanov Juulsen

Leaves them with 2 drafts, 2 free agency classes and mainly Petry and Tatar as trade chips to fill the 2 vacant spots (and of course a lot needs to go right for that roster to be considered contenders)

Now, now. Surely something can be arranged that would be beneficial to both clubs.

Well...

How about RNH (plays LW and C), Puljujarvi, Lucic, 2019 1st (unprotected) for Tatar, Shaw, Armia and Columbus's 2nd?

That's a pretty massive proposal... I think Montreal would probably insist on Alzner at around maybe 25% retained going back... I think as far as assets go, Edmonton gets raped in this deal, I know Lucic's contract is a tough one to swallow but still....
