Protected: Matthews, Marner, Tavares, Kapanen, Johnsson, Nylander, Kadri, Rielly, Muzzin and Zaitsev, Andersen

Exposed; Hyman, Brown, Dermott, Sparks, Gauthier, Holl

Exposing Dermott shows why it would be a great move to unload Zaitsev now.

I'm thinking the Leafs move Zaitsev before the expansion draft or work a deal with Seattle to not select Dermott.

Connor Brown is long gone before expansion - if not at this year's TDL than certainly this summer.

Having said that, I'm still not convinced that Modified NTC players need to be protected per expansion draft rules. NTC players can be waived or sent to the minors without consent - so why would they require to be protected per expansion? So I don't think Zaitsev would be able to reject being exposed.

An NMC is not the same thing as an NTC and the expansion rules explicitly call out NMCs but not NTCs as requiring protection.

Let's not jump to conclusions.... I'd go with the former after reading back

I just got off the phone with the police.

When I was in the gym earlier, this coked out dude (probably still going from the night before) came onto this woman and totally raged when she rejected him. A few of us separated him from the woman and the gym staff called 911. I guess it's a slow Sunday because 8 cops arrived at the scene, literally in two minutes. Buddy then decides it's a good idea to shove one of the cops who were trying to get him into cuffs, which the other officers didn't take kindly to.

So, to make a long story short he gets charged with assault and uttering death threats for the woman and assaulting a police officer. The guy wants to charge the three of us with assault, but the gym surveillance cameras clearly show that none of us touched him.

It was a day.
