yeah, no reason why Muzzin should play less than the 21:32 he played for LA - probably closer to 23-24 come playoff time. - 21peter
It’ll come.
They are trying every combo they have right now. Which is why every D has had similar ice times lately.
I don’t mind it...just one thing is for sure the pairings last night were awful. |

I’ll admit that his coaching decisions are puzzling at times. But being second overall in mid February is no small thing.
Alot of Oilers fans thought MacLellan was the issue too, but I think they might be eating their words now. - shack67

First 8mins or so looked like it was going to be a blowout. Never left coyote zone basically. Then just mailed it in. - burn
Also did you notice the first half of the first period everybody was trying to set up Matthews to score instead of just playing naturally. I knew it would come back to bite them.

Coyotes bought into, and stuck to their plan...they didn't stray even a bit, although the Leafs didn't give them reason to. Even a lucky goal may have changed that.
Leafs are usually successful in creating doubt and insecurity in their opponents.
Not much Babs could do about it last night - Leafs seem to be the ones with some doubt. It happens, they're human.

Yep, the media are the ones that make fans go bananas.
Headlines this morning
“Are the Leafs good enough to win the cup anymore?”
Headlines when they traded for Muzzin
“Leafs cup contenders with Muzzin add”
I kid you not. I heard someone on the radio saying they were confident they were cup contenders the day of the Muzzin add but now aren’t too sure.
Huh? They are 6-2-1 since the trade

That's what the trolls will come in here to say should we win it - even if we take the SCF series in 4. |

I think Hainsey's ice time is also a reflection of he's TO's best RHD at the moment, at +26 the top + on the team, and Zaitsev is pure sh!t. Could you imagine how much softer this team would be playing if Zaitsev started getting an extra 5 minutes a game? - winsix
Hainsey is a lefty.
Babcock: we need to have left/right combo. Except for hainsey who is terrible, we will continue to play in out of position and over use him. No one else can play their off side. |

Idk man.
I think it is pretty obvious Hainsey plays comfortably on the RS.
Rielly is ok on that side too but do you want your best D there? Probably not. |

What's funny is you think that's overachieving. We lost 1 game and we are no longer second overall, are we?
We are in a division where we went from second overall to 3rd in our divsion in 48 hours. Wake up. |

Perhaps, as a rookie, Johnsson is benefitting from being put in a position to succeed and working his way up the lineup. Perhaps he's doing so well with limited ice because he's getting favourable matchups, which is one of the advantages of Toronto's forward depth. You can play guys lower than they would play on weaker teams, and that allows them to do well.
Letting guys slowly ripen and work their way up is a development strategy going back to the Detroit model, and Lou talked about that as well. No doubt Johnsson will gradually get more ice if he continues to do well, but it's part of a process. - Zezel
And yet we have guys playing horribly in the top 6.
Let's be honest, Kapanen would have continued on the 4th line if not for that Nylander contract situation. Babcock for forced into the obvious. |

Hainsey won a cup a couple of seasons ago and was a significant piece on a team playing without their best d-man.
