Not at all. 22 years is long enough. Not to mention years as AGM, head scout and even our backup goalie. |

A GM holding a job for that long is almost unheard of in today’s sports

Very true. He’s been really good at what he did. Just want Yzerman to run the show. |

The home town hero coming back to lead a falling Original Six team back to glory? Is there a more perfect story? |

If Yzerman didn’t have a track record already I would have compared it to the Oilers boys on the bus

The only thing to make it better is to bring back Shanny and Feds who have proven track records as management. |

Also has 2 points to finish his stint with the Condors.....I wonder how he will look at the NHL level....I’m assuming 3rd pairing to start with

His defending and neutral zone play definitely appear up to snuff. His breakouts include those beautiful 5-foot misdirection passes made in stride to F1. Only question for me will be whether his legs will hold up in the battles and the pivots. |

He has looked good I’m just hoping it translates to the next level....I’m not expecting top pair level play but should be an upgrade over Manning and Petrovic.....I hope he didn’t get too used to winning games

Andrew Ference’s jock strap is a better option than those two. |

So, 7 points back with 24 games left. Nobody above us has any games in hand, and in those 24 games I foresee 12 "winnable" games:
Yotes (twice)
Ducks (twice)
Sens (twice)
Nucks
Devils
Rangers
LA
Dallas
Av's
IF the Oil should somehow manage to win every one of those games, then they'll finish the season with at least 77 points.
Many are predicting the final Wildcard in the West will require about 85 points.
So in summary, it is safe to say we are pretty much (frank)ed. |
