If Matthews did not sign all we'd hear from the Toronto media is that guaranteed max offersheet this summer. LOL |

Yup and if they lose, its all Gradiners fault. When he is gone next season, they will be calling for a puck moving D. It is a fun media cycle. Wish they would spend more time showing goals and fights on the morning highlights, rather then what line will Nylander play on, and "ongoing contract talks" with the Matthews camp. Blah blah blah. Lots of teams in the show, so lets see em all |

Going to be there tonight. Hopefully not a repeat of the game in Toronto. These are points that both teams need, in spite of their different ends of the standings. |

One fourth of the Arizona Coyotes will take on the league's best roster.
Hardly. |

Tanner forgot about Tampa. It's easy to forget about the league leader (by a wide margin) in points. |

I feel like there hasn't been a team as awesome as this years Lightening in a long long time. They are insane. We will beat them in the playoffs(Thanks Freddie) but Tampa definitely has the better roster...this year. |

can you get a new narrative besides the coyotes are hurt mantra |

usually, when the lose it is Gardniner's fault - or at least he owns significant responsibility for single-handedly changing the momentum of a game - he's probably caused Andersen to make an average of 3 high danger changes against each game.
and I sense large amounts of small market team crocodile tear envy... almost resentment that the team with the largest fan base in the league (bar none) and who directly generates the most revenue for the league all in and who hails from the region where the majority of high end NHLers come from... gets airplay.
do you really expect the NFL coverage to highlight Cleveland when they have the Pats and Dallas etc?
the Leafs fan base doesn't like the unending nonsense that the media spews about offer sheets from teams that can't afford to charge for parking, or put toilet paper in the bathrooms... and that's the crap we have to listen to

Not the best roster in the league, top 3 would be more accurate.
But it's nice to be able to even say that, after all those years of hurt and let downs with awful rosters. |

See you all at the game tonight. Hoping to see the Yotes light up Andersen for fantasy hockey purposes |

If that. SJ, Jets, TB, Caps are all more built to win come playoff time. But the Leaves are likely next, Muzzin certainly helps in this conversation though. |

I'm looking forward to Gardiner going elsewhere and continuing to be a solid top4 dman and the Leaves looking stupid for letting him go for nothing. Of course, if they win this view will no legs but I don't see them taking out Bos, TB or WSH in a 7 game series this year yet.

If the Coyotes didn't have so many injuries then they'd likely beat the Leafs 14-2. But since they are more decimated than Lee's army after Gettysburg, it'll be 5-1 Leafs.

Geez. Tanner calls the Leafs the best roster in hockey.....
Then they get dominated for 2 periods by 1/4 of the Coyote team. Other than the refs having Leafs on the PP for 30% of the 2nd period, they might be down 4 or 5 to nothing by now.
Tanner knows little about hockey....Leafs are a decent team, but no better than 4th or 5th best....and come playoff hockey, probably not that high.
Awful effort on home ice by the Leafs....embarrassing.....
Of course, it is the Coyotes...a couple more 3rd period PPs, and Leafs still can win this.... |

I watched a team of mostly AHL players put together a good defensive effort for the full 60 minutes. They all put in a good effort and kept their sticks on the ice. I'd say they looked well coached, except Tanner says Tocchet is the worst coach in hockey. I must be wrong. |

Except for the awful penalties and at times the forecheck was hesitant. Overall sound defensively, I would agree |

I was pretty critical of Tocchet last year, as his ice time allocations bordered on idiotic. Then I was critical of him because he wouldn't dress Dylan Strome, which was also idiotic. But you've got to give credit where it's due and he's had a strong year - penalty killing is more about tactics that personnel, and he's got the #1 in the league. I wouldn't say he's the worst coach at all. |
