Nice to get a win. Nice to see some scoring from the D. But, this team can't keep the puck out of their own net.

They go up 6-3 and proceed to let the Rags get the puck out easy and breeze through the neutral zone and enter our zone with almost zero resistance. How 'bout a little 1-2-2 and suffocate them? Make them earn every inch of ice?

Sullivan has become Dan Bylsma. Disco would be smiling 'cause Sully makes no strategic adjustments.

I really hope Geno has finally gotten out of his head and has really return to form.
- Rinosaur

I think he has not just the goals but the way he's playing since after the suspension.

Eh. If contracts weren’t a concern I don’t think I care enough to decide. I guess Johnson because he’s a better skater.

With contracts factored in? A million times McQuaid.

- Victoro311

I think Mcquaid makes the smart decision most of the time. Has no illusions about his game.

The small sample size of Bjugstad at 3C was already an improvement in fancy stats.

You joke, but IMO one the of the major factors that will affect Pens going to deep in the playoffs(if they make it) is going to be having a 3rd line that isn't only hard to play against, but one that can actually score with some regularity.

We'll see how it moves going forward but I've liked Bjugstad better at center so far which is a good thing.

I also think McCann's game with his speed can work much better on the wing.

As long as Rust and ZAR stay where they are we'll keep seeing Bjugstad at 3C, so that could easily change part-way through next game.

In my opinion we need s third line that can play against the other teams top line. Get Sid good matchups.

That only works at home games. The third line needs to be enough of a threat offensively so teams are forced to spread themselves out.

I think the Pens plan has been and will continue to be matching up Sid's line against their opponents top line come playoff time. They need a 3rd line that can dominate other teams 3rd lines.

Yesterday I had an opportunity to play hockey and skipped it to watch the afternoon game, they lost. Today I was presented the opportunity again, took it and opted not watch, they won. I did see up to 5 mins left in the 1st... And DVR'd it. Will watch after my lil guy goes to bed. Glanced at score when I got home and it was 6-3 and know final was 6--5...so more of giving teams hope to come back and tie it late in a game they're winning?

I'm not really sold on Bjugstad. He has been ok but everyone is acting like he is going to be a huge difference maker. I just don't see it.

Give McCann some time and I think he is going to develop into their 3C, maybe a stretch this season though.

To my eyes his reach, board play and work away from puck seems to keep pucks alive in opponent's zones longer and he breaks up plays in own zone.

I haven't seen the final 2 periods and 5 mins of the game today, yet.

His skill is obvious. He can very much be a difference-maker if utilized properly.

Then the rags would score and you’d complain they’re playing too passive and should continue to push play

So did we trade for Zuccarello yet? I think I wouldn't mind seeing him in a Pens Jersey and he would be a lot cheaper compared to Stone and Duchene.

We got all three of them! Ottawa took Jack Johnson and the Rangers took Cullen and Pearson.

I was listening to Madden the day the Pens made the trade and he had Floridas TV commentator on to discuss the players and he had nothing but great things to say about the one playoff series Bjugstad played in. He said he was an absolute beast really played to his size. He also had 2g 4p in 5 games played

Yeah, but by that same token he has only 5 games of playoff experience. I mean, Cullen was pretty good in the playoffs a few years ago too!

I'm not against the guy at all and I think he could be successful here. I just think it's weird that people criticize guys like Hornquist and then act like Bjug is great.

NJ helping out right now. Hopefully the Pens figure them out when they play them next.
