I think Patrick is showing a lot more offensively. He’s the best player on that line every night.

The Red Wings version of Wayne Simmonds is Justin abdelkader, who has had a cap hit of 4.25 million from one 20 goal season in his career. Even gave him an “A”. He’s terrible. The Red Wings I don’t think will be back in the hunter for a very long time unless they get Hughes. They’re way too loyal to Michigan and Michigan State players or guys who simply grew up in the area. Larkin, Abdelkader, Glendening.

I would love to grab Glendening from them. Good faceoff man, gritty, penalty killer. The problem is, they’ll never trade him because he’s from Michigan. Stupid reason to keep anyone.

Talbot was at one point in ny heralded as the successor to Henry and they wanted them to actually trade Henry and keep Talbot. Than he went and absolutely got beat into the ground with Edmonton behind a poor defense. He is at the very least equivalent to the quality of goalie elliot is without the injury history. Hos relationship as hart calls him his mentor is huge. Hes a better goalie than stoly. Stoly flopped around like a fish out of water vs Minnesota and continues to struggle with rebound control. Hes 25 and likely wasnt going to re sign. I think this trade was fine even though I thought we should of received a mid to late round pick in the deal.

Underwhelming? Patrick has been one of the best Flyer forwards since Weise was waived. Give him some decent wingers and he could be special if he keeps playing like this.

Patrick is playing his best hockey now after starting the season between Lindblom and Voracek. Patrick couldn’t find chemistry with JvR in camp. Patrick is playing Excellent with the wingers he has.

He's showing some more consistent strong play. Hasn't necessarily translated into points, but he is skating better and playing with purpose. I hope he rounds out into a solid top 6 center.
