f we're giving up one of the Skilled Skandinavians(TM) then I'd much rather get Pesce. Although I'd be equally happy if Dubas was out scouting Anaheim to look at Manson - he's a bit older but he's cost controlled and has better (and more rounded) on-ice impact than Montour.

A final name that hasn't been mentioned (somewhat surprisingly IMO) is Damon Severson. He's fairly young, cost controlled, a natural RD, and Jersey are going nowhere soon.

Agreed. Matthews is an amazing player, and I'm glad the Leafs have him, but McDavid is better. He's paid more than Matthews, but for a longer time, so the contract being better is slightly debatable. It will be in the long run...

Matthews could develop into a Bergeron with Ovechkin-like scoring ability. That type of guy is invaluable.
