We used to do an annual chili cook off at UofA Chem, with a prize for best chili, and one for hottest chili. The only rule was that yes, we can probably make capsaicin, and yes, we can absolutely buy it, but you absolutely cannot use it neat in your chili

Like, Ottawa is a mess, but they're a mess because the owner has a self-imposed salary cap and because of player drama which can't be really blamed on management, though I guess the aftermath can to a certain degree.

Over time I have come to realize that my tolerance falls somewhere between habaneros and the really (frank)ing stupid peppers. Habaneros are great as they have excellent flavour (though chipotle are still my favourite)...
