Kypreos took one too many shots to
The head. No way Dubai’s would want Ceci. He’s awful and expensive.
Sounds like a couple of years ago when Kipper was touting the Leafs signing Jimmy Vesey and then getting Alzner as a UFA to be a stud D Man. Fortunately he
Is never right.

Nah. I was mostly exaggerating. But if he's taking a 4 or 5 year deal he's probably going to want at least $4 million per. I figure the Leafs will try to get him in at around $3 million if the can, but he's getting more expensive by the day. Somebody might be willing to chuck $4.5 per at him.

Does he still sign that, though?

Even if he does a 2 - 3 year bridge deal for less he will still be playing on a contending team. Being able to call yourself a 'Stanley Cup Champion' will pay dividends for the rest of your life.

I'll say this once again, Kap is NOT signing a 3 year or 4 year or 5 year deal at $4m. An offer sheet is not and will not happen.

His career PPG and his potential PPG tell his agent to bridge, and then hit big. Every game that goes by, this possibility is getting closer to reality. Kap is legit, and he's a Top 6.

He's not going anywhere. The only risk, and it's very slight, is Johnnson. But he has arb, his career games is low, and it's an unnecessary risk to even bother trying by another team.

Offer sheets will not, and are not, happening this summer to the Leafs. End. Of. Story.

Probably not as many dividends as a guaranteed extra $1-1.5 Million per year will cover.

like, $4.5 for 5 years is a guaranteed $22.5 million, or if he signs a 3 year bridge at $3.5 he'll have a guaranteed $10.5 million and MAYBE a Stanley Cup if the team holds it together. Maybe.

Think about how ridiculously good the Red Wings were from 2003-2007. Four straight seasons with 100+ points and zero cups.

He could bet on himself with a short term 1 or two year deal, but if he does that and excels, well, now the Leafs REALLY can't afford him.

Kapanen is a real target. 4 million AAV is only a 2nd rounder. So 20 million and 5 years is a good contract for a team looking at a top 6 winger.

If that happens you're 100% trading one of Johnsson or Nylander.

The offer sheet talk is strictly media driven. It's the only thing left in their arsenal to get clicks. Bait only. Well managed teams need not worry.

Well, you'd get a draft pick or two out of it.

Ideally you'd try to trade him before hand though.

And will those draft picks amount to anything?
Would a bottom team offer sheet Kapanen, i don't think so.

I'm 90% sure you're right but if you're Carolina, Dallas, Colorado who all need secondary scoring do you not look at Kapanen and call his agent?

McKenzie made a good point today on leafs lunch. Kap has 2 cards to play. Sitting out and signing an offer sheet. My guess is he only signs an offer sheet if the Leafs wont bridge him for a fair amount (because they cant afford it).

I think zaitsev is traded off season for anything anyway. Him and Brown are likely gone.

I'd piss my pants if the Leafs turned round and offer sheeted Point.

Johnsson won't be playing tomorrow night, listed day-to-day. I guess he just has a nasty bruise.

Edmonton, along with Florida and Buffalo are my favourites to be a darkhorse to make the playoffs until I die, said any Hockeybuzz poster.

Tripp Tracy is not only terrible at his job, he's awkward as (frank).

They brought in a cake with candles for the play-by-play guy to blow out and Tripp goes "you deserve this. I'll get out of the way."

He ducked and ended up getting his head directly between the camera and the candles.

Buffalo is pretty unlucky to have faced so many backup goalies this season. If they had faced more starters, they could be in line for another top drat pick.

Players should be fined for faking highsticks to the face. Like Skinner just did.
