I would wager that we are a little ahead of the curve of the HNIC demographic though.
People still watch him. People still think there should be fighting in hockey so the players can police themselves.
He is a dinosaur but every once in a while he is right about something... (like the no-touch icing he went on about for years) - Aetherial
That's fair.
Another problem of course is when you try to appeal to younger viewers, but the people who decide what younger folks want are just the older executives - we call that situation the "StromboulopouLOL" |

Mathews, nylander, and gardiner for mcdavid. Put brown and kap with mcdavid. Talk about a fast line. Crazy or genius lol. Oilers once upon a time traded gretzky. - ziffles
Take out Nylander and put Gardiner in twice cos he's poop |

Oh yeah. As frustrating as Babcock can be at times (see Hainsey, Ron and Komarov, Leo), there's no question that he's in a whole different class of coach compared to Randy |

Depends on the bridge deal and what he wants. Does he want money and security now? If so then I see him looking at an offer sheet. I fully agree on a couple years at like 2.5 to 3 per year but that doesnt mean he doesnt want more or might be offered more.
Also only ELC and veteran contracts have bonuses. Cant give him any here. - Aaron_85
not true, didn't the Leafs just give Nylander a signing bonus? |

Interestingly, in Leafs playoff elimination games Jake Gardiner is a -8.
The opposition have scored 14 goals.
Not too bad. |

Yes the Leafs are using their financial strength to do what some of the riff-raff welfare teams cannot hope to do. (frank) other teams, when the cap goes up $10 to $12 million from the gambling revenues, put the screws to other teams (frank) 'EM. |

Scary statistic is he was actually on the ice for 2 goals scored by the Leafs.
Meaning, he was on the ice for 10 of the 14 goals conceded in those 3 games. |

Yes. Nylander + for Larsson.
No actually I feel they are going to lose due to overconfidence from their recent roll, and from partying down in the desert. Unless AM has to have Marleau over for dinner at his parent's place and they took it easy.
That's part of Marleau's role I bet, moderating the partying down. |

Yeah the Leafs can go crazy with signing bonuses, and yep, the cap is gonna go up and this bit of a cap crunch won't be a problem for the Leafs and all the haterz can EAT AN OCEAN FULL OF DRIPPY Richard |

Taking your Leafs questions for today's Q & A column. What area do you want Kyle Dubas to address in the next nine days? |

Hi Mike,
Do you think that Garrett Sparks' performance in New York has Dubas looking for yet another backup goalie option, or will he go with Hutch if they get into a bind? |

Montour would be a huge add for Toronto. I really think he’d be a great fit with Rielly long term. Would be an offensively dynamic pair.
I’d include Johnsson or Kapanen no problem. - Blazed
Montour has been awful this season. He's worked himself from the top pairing down to the 3rd.
If the Leafs trade one of those two players, I sure as poop hope they can get someone a lot better than Montour. |
