I just read Jake may go on IR

All speculation

I would of rather had Gagner than Spooner if JB wants to play Spooner in the NHL. Hopefully Spooner is a different player then he was in Edmonton earlier this year.

Benning is piling up quite the collection of bottom six forwards. Maybe he thinks most bottom six guys wins?

My biggest reason for liking this trade is because I thought it was stupid for Benning to pay Gagner to score against his AHL team. Can you imagine the uproar if Gagner knocked the Comets out of the playoffs?

After that I don't care about this trade, I am hoping it leads to further moves.

Sutter
Schaller
Leipsic
The guy who got traded for Sutter.

My biggest reason is it puts Gagne back in the NHL.

Would you consider Goldy for Puljujari? Virtanen for Puljujari + ?

Would not for Virtanen.

Definitely not Jake for Poolparty. I have been reading up on him this weekend . A lot of their fans and media have no praise for him at all.

They will be sending him down soon to the AHL

But it absolutely is not concussion related. Just like πŸ»πŸ§€ was not experiencing concussion (post) symptoms.

Would be super mad if Gagner knocked Utica out of the playoffs πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰

Really is a nothing trade. Hope Spooner shows better here then he did in Edmonton.

My thought is about the same...though a 2nd coming back with Pul would make it interesting in a Virtanen trade. I’ve been pulling for Jake, but have started to doubt he will ever be able to become an impact player. Has the tools, lacks the drive / sense.

Puljujari is completely lost in Edmonton, but I think still has a lot of potential. I’d happily do a straight trade for Goldy. Jesse is bigger, faster and had a scoring touch, at least until he joined the Oilers. He’s a project, but I still see more upside than Goldy...who actually would be an upgrade (this year) for the Oilers.

Lol, is this a hockey trade?

I think when Benning talks about hockey trades what he isn't really saying is that he doesn't have anything that another team would be willing to give a pick for, so us fans will have to settle for other teams under performers.

Garbage in garbage out.

That alone would make the trade one of the best moves Benning ever made.

It is a hockey trade. One for one move that makes sense for both teams.

Spooner fills a spot in Utica that we are missing and gives him a chance to improve and fight for a spot in the bigs next season.

Gagne gets another chance in the NHL and most likely will play with McDavid at some point. I believe he is going to thrive there because he plays better with better players around him. Gagne has a good hockey IQ.

Best of all no money retained. This was a good deal.

I disagree . If he wanted to play with better players then he should continue playing for the Marlies

Awesome. exactly what we need is another player that can get us 15 points in 117 NHL games.

Better than moving a healthy scratch with a bad attitude for a 3rd overall?
