I know. My whole family is from the Nordic countries and it's a pretty uniform education model across the board there. English being mandatory and Puljujarvi not knowing it at all despite living in Oulu for much of his life says to me that either it was a linguistic capacity issue or a willingness issue. Neither are good signs, but one is clearly better than the other.

well datsyuk still never could speak proper english despite 14 seasons in north america so....

Cap space to active Sekera. Whether it is Stolarz or Elliot coming back, I would guess the cap space is the sole reason for the trade. Stolarz could certainly be resigned though if he shows well as a backup (with our D).
- Beergu

Certainly it would help with cap space but it isn’t the only option the Oilers have either to make it work....as I said in a previous post it’s just time...if this team thought Talbot was going to be the guy then Koskenin doesn’t get that contract so what do you do with a UFA that has no future here? You move him

Except Columbus. I still find it a bit curious that the Fin passed on the Fin in that spot. Would have been nice if everything went as originally planned and we ended up with Tkachuk, or Sergatchev, or Dubois.
- Beergu

I kinda wanted Tkachuk... but I also heard Puju was a win too... but its obvious Calgary got the gift... TBH- this all goes back to Alex Plante and Colten Teubert... I blame the failures of drafting on them... Rice too...

WOrst part of it all is the classic Chia NMC... WHy the (frank) did or what did Koski do to deserve one based on such a small sample size... CHIA should have had to answer that before the banana eater left/got fired

It’s been reported and I believe Nicholson said it himself that it was a management decision as far as that goes

Grade 12 for me had a GF at the time who could not get enough. It was fantastic.

Also, I mean, the cup.

You can thank Bergeron for that.

I mean, the Oilers did a hell of a job battling back from that, but it was done the moment this happened and everyone knew it.

And Pronger handed Doug Weight a separated shoulder, so come on.

(frank) Roloson. Kept Yzerman to only one playoff series before he hung up the skates.

When it first happened I thought we were screwed....I was there for game 6 and was convinced we would actually pull it off in game 7....obviously we didn’t

Wings really were mind boggling on between their 02 and 08 wins. Should’ve had a couple more.

Never forget watching Game 7 at my buddies place. about 20 of us and I'm the only Canes fan.

That building in Raleigh was rocking though. Nobody sat down the entire game. Loved how the fans in Edmonton and Raleigh were pushing each other to see who could be louder. First time I can recall CBC measuring the decibel levels in the buildings.

(frank) the 2002 Red Wings and Steve Yzerman and Mike Ilitch.

Wish the Salary Cap had existed back then so our $18 million per season offer sheet to Fedorov had actually (frank)ed the wings up.
