Im a okay with a gagner experiment. And the move to open space, for sekera, if he comes back to close to form. Im happy just dont do anything dumb with pool party, send him to the a regardless.

The oilers thank you for being ok with them clearing space for Sekeras return.....considering they really have no choice in the matter

Never thought about it that way.

So where does he slot in?

- Wildschwein

Probably beside RNH.

I'd go with Khaira-RNH-Gagner and see how that goes.

Unless Hitchcock wants to play Gagner as a center, of which I doubt due to our lack of winger depth.

Honestly, this could work out decently well for us.

Gagner is somehow only 29 years old. He has been around for what feels like forever!

So it sounds like we’re getting Gagner back, with Spooner going the other way. Gagner has 37 points in 43 games with the Marlies this year, and the money is pretty much equal.

Is it wrong that I don’t hate this?

- Wildschwein

I like it.

Two solid deals made in a day.

Strange times. With the lack of forward depth, it'll be interesting to see if Gagner is planted on the PP for 4 minutes a game. Essentially the only place he's useful these...and 90% of his career...days.

Sam Gagner >>> Teddy Purcell >>> 2016 3rd

Jordan Eberle >>> Ryan Strome >>> Ryan Spooner >>> Sam Gagner

I think the Overall Net of this trade tree is

Jordan Eberle for a 2016 3rd (Matthew Cairns)

Seems to me Puju is holding the cards, hes not being sent down for a reason...I think the threat to bolt to the khl...All in all the kid needs a new home, and its ridiculous he hasnt spent the year in the ahl
- oilpatch

He can bolt then we have his NHL rights....he is a pending RFA and that’s what I mean by the Oilers hold the cards....I have said numerous times that this team has failed him in a big way with his development but at the end of the day he doesn’t get to call his own shots either

Spooner wasn’t going to play with the Oilers so sure why not? It saves us around a million in cap space

I dunno. Despite his warts he’ll probably still produce more than Rieder, Lucic, Puljujarvi, Malone and Rattie 5v5.

Says more about the roster than it does about Gagner though.

Not sure if he'll come over, now that he's the main attraction in the K. Really interesting situation he's in.

Wasn’t Koskenin like the man in the KHL? I won’t take away KHL success but there is a difference between the two leagues

I dunno. He might be tempted due to McDavid, much like Panarin was with Kane.
