Yep. JS Giguere did the same in 2003.

He damn near pulled it off that year too....well him and Roloson have that going for them

I will never stop loving him, though.

2002 never should have happened in the first place.

Oilers will be lucky to get a late 2nd rounder for Pulj.
Should do it quickly before he becomes their next Yakupov

I was thinking a couple of 1sts and 3/4 quality prospects should be fair

poopty.

Weird thing from 06 as I go through looking at the stats... only 3 players on the Oilers had ever made it to a cup finals before.

14 guys on the Hurricanes had played in at least one finals before:

Glen Wesley, Aaron Ward (3x)
Bret Hedican, Rod Brind'amour (2x)
Mark Recchi, Martin Gerber, Nic Wallin, Mike Commodore, Oleg Tverdovsky, Kevyn Adams, Erik Cole, Craig Adams, Cory Stillman, Josef Vasicek

If I'm moving Jesse, it's for a return similar to what Arizona got for Strome. If I can't get that, I'll keep him and play him with McDavid next year as he probably already ought to be. Might've been a poorly-planned attempt to keep the cap hit of his 2nd deal down; I wouldn't put that past this Oilers team at all.

So something like Puljujarvi and Rieder for Zucker or Coyle?

Looking back at our roster during that season I noticed that Brodziak was on the team that season....he only played 10 games but still

Exactly, late 2nd round pick.
Pulj will be playing in the KHL soon...

Edmonton won't get very much back for him.

I don’t think he gets moved until at least the new GM comes and and decides on what he wants to do and obviously as it stands the return won’t be good given his current status....pennies on the dollar

I don’t know if they would. Just depends on how serious they are about changing things up and getting younger/faster.

I’d be willing to throw in a pick to sweeten the deal.

Still too early to write Puljujarvi off just yet. Just look at the Strome/Yotes for comparison.

Apparently the Wild GM has the green light to make deals even if it takes them out of the playoffs....IF that’s the case then it certainly doesn’t hurt to throw it out there and see what comes of it....we might have to add a pick to get it done
