My degree is in international relations and economics, so unfortunately this is where I need to be to at least start my career. Denver and California tend to be pretty decent for it, too, but I definitely wouldn't be able to afford California, and as cool as Denver is, I really hate the idea of being landlocked all the way inland since I'm originally from Puerto Rico and grew up on the coast of South Carolina.

Oh wow, so how did you become a pens fan? And good luck with moving to California one dayđź‘Ť

Story’s pretty dumb. We moved to Philly when I was one years old cus my dad was doing his residency at Temple. I was really into Mario games when I was a toddler and my dad would always point out that Super Mario was playing hockey when the Flyers would play the Penguins. I had no idea I was supposed to be a Flyers fan, so I decided I was a fan of the team Mario was on.

Imagine being an Eagles and Sixers fan, having to explain over and over again why I am a Pens fan. I really hate the, if you aren't from the City you aren't a true fan BS. I agree there are different levels, but to say someone isn't a true fan because they aren't from the city is just BS.

So I’m guessing you didn’t wear a jersey to school very often. I heard Philly fans are just crazy as hell. Utah doesn’t have anything nhl so people never give me to much grief. They always just ask me if I lived there or something. Then I gotta explain the whole damn story.

That's a huge overpay. AA is a tantalizing player but he's not actually that good. We already have like three Nick Jensens.
- Victoro311

Sorry I started typing the proposal for Ceci and Dzingel. Then I put AA and Jensens place without adjusting the payment from the pens end. Sorry it was bad editing by me.

I'm not originally from the burgh either. I was born on the west coast in Seattle. I followed the seahawks, sonics and Oregon ducks. Of course we never had an nhl team so outside of thunderbird/Silvertips games, i used to follow the pens since lemeiux was also my dads fave player. When I was in junior high we moved to the burgh and then I really started following pens hockey. I've stuck with it despite living in new York after college. (frank)ing expensive too, but I think DC is prob worse.

It's funny though, I never got any grief for wearing a jersey. Most ppl just don't care about hockey . It's football, baseball, (and what used to be basektball), and now Sounders.

I am a Sixers fan too, actually. My dad started following them during the Dr J years before we even got to Philly and I inherited that one. Die hard Process truster. Hinkie died for our wins!

I didn’t stay in Philly long enough for that to be a problem. I moved to SC when I was 5.

Hockey isn’t huge here so when you see someone wearing a jersey from any team you kinda have to be friends. You East cost folks are lucky because there are so many teams so close. I’m an 8 hour drive to Vegas and Colorado. Also black out teams on center ice are the coyotes, Avalanche and The Knights. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’ve only went to one pens game and it was an incredible story.

So who are we trading and for what this morning?

I see Pearson being thrown out again... and while I want him to turn it back up, I'll tone down my resisting it. Mostly because I want Simon and Kessel with Malkin, which leaves Pearson on the 3rd line at best with a 4 mil cap hit

I loved Dr J, had a poster on the wall growing up. Then Chuckwagon came along, and I was like...man, I am built a lot like him Was exactly how I patterned my game around, so I was hooked as a Sixers fan. Jaws was the QB here at YSU, thats how my Eagles fandom started. I can remember watching the Pens on KBL and WPGH in the early 80s, pre Mario days. They were baaaaaaaaaad

Side note: I was more of a Ducks fan than Penguins fan as a young lad... obviously Gordan Bombay's fault. But it got me my first date freshman year with a girl from Cali. Just had to pretend I also liked the Lakers (who gives a (frank) about basketball )

I was born in Pittsburgh and lived here my whole life aside from four years when I was younger (4 - 7 years old). I guess like any place it has its positives and negatives. I would definitely take it over any of the bigger cities east and north. It is much cheaper. The main things I don't like about it are the weather and getting around (we may not have the volume of traffic that the bigger cities do but due to a wide variety of factors getting from point A to point B can be an incredibly frustrating experience).

I have been to a total of 26 states including Hawaii and if I could live anywhere else I would choose southern Texas. It has some similarities to Florida except that it is much less crowded and built up (and of course drier). It definitely is not a hockey place but surprisingly I did see the Stars on tv while there. I think most of my fellow Pittsburghers would not like it there but I did. Mexican food is also my favorite kind of food.

Not the same story at all, but Lemieux is the reason I’m not a Rangers fan.
