Maybe it’s tine to sell high on Strome, package him up with ADB for some grit. Trade them both to Edmonton for Lucic and Kassian.

We don't spell incorrectly here, we have standards.

Agree, reunite Adb and Strome with McDavid and we'll take back Garbage 1 and Garbage 2. #Playoffs.

I looked for a Strome shirt at the UC last night, I was disappointed by the poor selection they had.

You’re right, he should be compared to Toews.
They’re both under performing, 3rd overall picks and they both play center.

Both need to be jettisoned ASAP!

Did somebody mention last night that Crow was sick, or did I not hear correctly? Sometimes Foley talks 100 MPH.

blows need to come back to pack at some point: vs wild today...3 pt game? probably

if the hawks are really serious about a playoff push, the the next 5 games provides a great chance to prove it: sens, wings, aves, stars, ducks...get 8 of 10 pts and maybe they really do have a chance

all winnable games even with their horsepoop team defense and propensity to beat themselves...

expect delia back vs sens...

hawks schedule this year in terms of scheduling has been really bizarre..

looking ahead to march they will travel for 13 of their 14 games..
they have the aves in BTB home and home but they play in denver (after a home game vs the flyers) then home and then go back out west for 3 games...what the hell is that...

Anybody on the board up for a double minor on blatant goalie interference, subject to review? Goalies league wide are really getting run, big time. Or, so it appears at least.

I just want them to get it right, because that rule has been butchered. Last night was G.I. wasn't called; Kane hitting Marchand into Ward was not G.I. but was penalized like it was.

Hated old Luongo back in the day with VAN. Come to find out, he's really a good person. (Like the vast majority of NHL'ers).

You are right, here. In addition, the league needs to spell things out clearly for the fans. I think last night on Ward was purely accidental, but the guy clearly should have received two minutes. BTW, I seldom rag on the refs. But last night, I thought they were both biased and atrocious. A two-fer.

Supposedly if Luongo said I am too injured to play anymore, nobody would dispute LTIR for a 40 year old goalie and the amount of injuries he has sustained. BUT Bobby Lu still loves to play and he wants to play until they rip the jersey off of him. His charitable work in South Florida is definitely to be commended, especially after the Parkland shooting.

Agree with the Bobby Luo statement and this. It was accidental, but deserved 2 mins in the box. I get mad with the refs every once in awhile, I think they do a good job overall.

Thanks. I didn't know about that. Seems like a great guy. Capfriendly says he's a non roster player and another goalie has just been recalled.

Bread, you're a young man. Things are so different today. Ron Hextall, Gerry Cheevers, and Chico Resch, would have dealt with this abuse in other ways. Not saying it was necessarily right, but players had a lot more respect. Goalies are going to lose their careers, if things keep up at this rate.

As a rule of thumb, I think the refs are phenomenal. They do make bad calls, but the human aspect of the game takes precedence.

I know and agree. Players are definitely doing more of the "accidental on purpose" crap and get away scott-free.

Also, I like the human aspect of the game, even if some are wrong. Making calls in real-time is an art.

You're mistaken, then -- it is that stupid bonus point for an OTL creating the 3 point games. The league could decide not to get rid of ties entirely -and decided that every game needed a result.

Actually going to OT in the regular season isn't really 'hockey' -anyways ... it has screwed up the points model for the standings.

.500 is 82 points no matter how you get there. Your record is basically 60 games, 30 wins and 15 ties or 75 points -- whereas 60 would be .500. What you got there with 30-15-15 is a .625 winning percentage.

- SC116

Exactly. 3 on 3 is not hockey. It’s some made up invention by Bettman because NA sports fans aren’t smart enough to understand that a tie can still be an exciting game. Same with the shoot out bull crap.

The most popular sport in the world, and that sport’s most important leagues, don’t have a problem with ties.

If you get 82 points in 82 games, you’ve achieved 50% of possible points, thus, a .500 team.
