Not that it matters, but Ward needed to save that one.

Seabrook grenade pass and then too slow even with the angle and 3 steps on Andersen. Game over.

Can we please all agree to go back to tanking now? Why win another game? Seriously...why? What good will it do?

Closer to 8th seed than the lottery. Hawks are too good to be bottom 3 so why not watch them win?

No. There's no sense explaining why. Just accept that there are people on the other side of the fence and I will do the same.

Nope. I'll always root for them to win.

The Defense IS bottom 3 and if the top two lines cool off this team won't beat anyone. An 8 of 9 losses is just as possible as the 8 of 9 wins.

Defensive errors a plenty, but could’ve had 4 goals in the 2nd. They were all over Columbus for large stretches.

Foley either willfully, or ignorantly, ignores completely OT losses in his “.500” analysis. SMFH

The problem is it won't matter if they tank now - too many bad teams will need to jump up to catch them. It looks like they should sell it all, but I don't think they will be anywhere near the top 4 picks anyway.

The 2nd period was gorgeous for sure, but this defense is a joke dude. It really is. Murphy, who has actually been good this year looked drunk tonight, Dahlstrom was terrible, Seabrook was horrendous, Gus was hit/miss. Keith and CooCoo didn't cut their Achilles with their own skates so I give them two the only passing grades.

The offense was electric at times, but couldn't solve Bob, and of course the poopty defense is never there to bail out an offense that has been awesome for a long stretch now.

The players will always play to win. You can only tank by trading off all your best players. Think White Sox trading Sale and Q.

The only way the Hawks could tank, is trade Toews, Kane, Keith, etc. not that they’d want to, plus they all have NMCs.

So can we please stop with the ‘tanking’ nonsense?

IMO, a team with a 30-15-15 record is .500. 30 wins and 30 losses

If Crows cleared and Ward waives, would someone give up a late first? Maybe if someones injured.

Hawks have a great shot and need to keep the momentum for a month +! That's way more important than people give credit for. Hockey and baseball.

What's up, Gonzo? I was at the game tonight, but still wanted to say hey after a sloppy effort.

Not gonna win the Cup even if we miraculously get that 8th seed. So it’s pointless and we will lose out on a solid draft pick.

Much more to gain by increasing our chances at drafting as high as possible, got nothing to lose by doing so.

There are other variables. What if that team lost 6 of those games in OT and 9 of them in a shootout?

Check the draft records the last 10 years and you will see plenty of all
Stars drafted #5-15 overall, which is where I expect the Hawks to finish

Think big picture

In all reality you ARE rooting for them to win by wanting them to tank.

Unfortunately you might be right. That damn 7 game win streak has put us in a pickle...

But still....much more to gain big picture by losing than winning the remaining games.

I know it's a bad deal to buyout a player and with Seabrook having 5 more seasons they will be paying off his buyout for like 10 years - but just do it. The impact on the Cap would suck but it wouldn't be as bad for the team as having him on the ice. I love Seabs, I do, been a warrior for a long time and was a main contributor to the 3 Cups - but he's done. It needs to be over. Just pay big $$$ for 10 years and move on.
