they really like to get hopelessly out of contention and then find a way to sneak in right at the end. but not this year. they dug too deep a hole this time.

It must be frustrating, especially when you look at teams like Anaheim who weren't that far off, but just gave up completely. Would be quite the story if the Flyers did make the playoffs though.

they still have time, plenty of games left. they do play very well since xmas, and now have a goalie!!
I wouldn't bet they'll make it, but I wouldn't bet they won't.

So, I see you're not a betting man.

i would love to see it. it's always more fun with hope at the end of the season. spending the last few weeks of the season with nothing to play for is a drag.

I don't watch as many games as I used to. did the turn around happen before or after the firing of the coach and gm?

I BET AFTER...

after. i don't think hextall was the problem as much as hakstol was.

although i've read that hextall was a bit controlling and stuff. but under him they were stockpiling young players and picks and stuff instead of trading for tony amonte and whatnot for the first time ever.

i didn't mind the old way of doing things where they were always trading to make the team better because almost every year they were a good team and had a chance. but they went to like 17 finals since 1975 without winning any of them doing it that way.

so maybe it's just time to try building a nice team with your own drafting and developing and stuff.

It’s a turnover more shocking than Drouin’s

It's also Jordie Benn's favourite desert. He had a good diet for a while, but he's a bit on a relapse now.

they have a very good team up front, with an impressive young dcore. Hart seems to be the man. no reason they don't make it.
I could see them go for a vet dman though, to help the kids.

When Jordie Benn plays north of 15 minutes it’s going to happen.

yeah that's what i mean. i think hextall was doing it right.

before hextall came along all of our GMs going back to the 70s were making constant big deals to keep the team relevant and in the hunt but they never had any draft picks or young players to develop because they were always trading them away to get those big deals done.
