Oilers and Flyers in a holding pattern on Cam Talbot trade. As mentioned on Insider Trading last night, Anthony Stolarz likely in the return if they close the deal. RFA goalie end of the year.

I don't understand why the Flyers would do this. Stolarz and Talbot are the same type of player. Yet Stolaz has the abilty to get better, while Talbot is clearly getting worse.

I have no idea how Zucc is worth a 2nd plus a prospect. Unless the prospect is a TOP prospect I just don’t get it. Look at the return Nash brought.. Zucc is worth at the very least a 1st+.

If a GM called me and had the words “2nd” and “Zuccarello” in the same sentence, I would hang up. There’s no conversation.

No way. Keeping/resigning Zuuc to a reasonable 4 year deal is much better than trading him for a 2nd + mid level prospect

No way. Keeping/resigning Zuuc to a reasonable 4 year deal is much better than trading him for a 2nd + mid level prospect

So keeping Zucc until he's 36 with a contract noth of 5 million dollars is better than 2 cost controlled assets? Don't think so.

They traded him to a division rival who paid a premium and I'm not totally sure Rykov will be better than an AHL lifer.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Rangers got a first, but I think it would ultimately be from a legitimate contender and probably around pick 25. There isn't a GM in the world who's going to give up a top prospect for him though.
