KHL isn't pro level hockey? Yeah he's untested. He's also top 3 prospect in his position. - tomburton99
Not compared to the NHL. Way different scenario. I'm not saying he wont be a very good goalie, but the problem is Hank isn't going anywhere, and neither is Georgi. So when does he get his 1st NHL game, at 26-27? |

They may as well play him 75% of games the rest of the way, it’s kind important to figure out who Hank passes the torch too...in this case if it’s Georgy or someone else. Hank wants to play I know, but eff that loyalty right now
Hopefully by expansion time they can expose Lindbom lol - Slimtj100
I would love to see what Georgi has for a good run, definitely could see where he is at. Unfortunately, it aint happening. |

Georgi is changing things for me, I think he's an NHLer for sure
he really should be given the most starts the rest of the year |

It would be really nice if Hank waved all his clauses and whatnot. Love ya, but move on Hank, move on |

is there any circumstance you would consider him a trade chip or is he completely untouchable for you - jimbro83
If the Rangers got a 2nd or more for him I'd consider trading him. But who is gonna pay that. But if Kravtsov, Miller and Lundkvist are untouchable then shouldn't Shesterkin? He's better than all three of them at this point. In year that could change. |

I’d say it’s at least equal to the A. If a goalie had a similar stat line in Hartford, what would your feeling be then? I think the pro Shesty brigade isn’t ready to anoint him the new king, but he’s passed every test with flying colors in a top pro league in the world. There’s no reason to think he isn’t NHL ready. |

but goalie is the only position where you just need one really good one, sometimes multiple good goalies are more of a problem than a plus
those other positions the more great players the better

Georgi proving himself viable to the point where he would command a tangible asset in a trade, is one of those breaks you need in a rebuild. There’s no doubt he’s an NHL tender. It actually kind of sucks he’s probably squeezed out in this org. A potential Shesty Georgie 1A/1B would be fun to watch |

I agree. If you have more than one good goalie then you could end up like the Canucks circa 2011-13. But you can't trade a top 3 prospect at his position before you know what you have. Unless it's for a larger deal for an elite player. |

you can only retain money on 2 contracts at a time, trading Hank doing that will prohibit doing other ones
I think Hank is here until the end of the deal, everybody just gotta accept it |

I gotta give David Quinn some credit, even though it kills the tank
he motivates this team to play hard |

I'm just looking at when he would actually get a chance to play. I'm not really pro/anti, I think there are valid points for keeping him and possibly trading him. I lean more towards the trade because of what the situation is right now. |

True, but we already have Hank and Georgi, who would be the equivilant for Kravtsov and Miller? |

I think your assessment would be correct say 5 years ago when the team was contending: take the established player now and dangle the unproven prospect. I’ll never be totally on team Tom when it comes to tanking, but I will agree we need as many high ceiling prospects right now as possible. I think Georgi can get better, but IMO he’s much closer to his ceiling now. Shesti has a much better potential of being an elite or at least top 10 goalie in the league. That’s why given the current situation I’d say keep Shesti |
