GM worried about the returns on Hayes/Zucc should tell you they aren't supposed to be part of this rebuild. Even if you only net a 2nd on both players + late rd or a decent prospect - its better than overpaying IMO. Both players are UFA so if u have the $$ next year and really want them back then pursue.

You just ruined Tom’s day
- TPC

You people want this. When they are stuck like this forever. Look to when they give Zucc and Hayes somewhere between 12-14 million dollars.

No. Puljujarvi has some potential, but at this point is a project. I might do it for Georgie. That’s even a stretch

it's gonna be interesting to see how it plays out if Shestyorkin definitely comes over.

He isn't coming here to play in Hartford that's for sure and Georgie is turning himself into a commodity.

Plus they have the expansion draft to worry about where they will have to expose a goalie with NHL games played

gonna be interesting to see how it all plays out

Sure, why not. He's behind Hank and Georgi

Helberg signed long term deal so I think Shesty comes over now

I’m not sure he’s behind Georgie. I like Georgie, but let’s not act like he’s been lights out his whole career. He’s been perfectly serviceable. As for expansion, wonder if they’d re up Tokarski for that purpose

He's behind Georgi in the sense that he has never played an NHL game, has been on one of the KHL's best teams.. Its all potential right now, we have no idea how he will stack up to the best players in the world. I love his stats and he looks like he could be a very good goalie, but Georgi is definitely ahead of him right now.

People also forget Georgi is only 23, pretty young for a goalie.

I think I’ll take some credit for that!
I said he wouldn’t score no matter who he plays with, but I never considered playing against an empty net.

Yes and has never faced a pro. My point being was about Georgi, not Igor, people tend to try to compare Georgi to Talbot, Talbot was older, Georgi can easily get much better. Very quick and good glove, under the guidance of Allaire, I have no doubt he could take over as a starter

KHL isn't pro level hockey? Yeah he's untested. He's also top 3 prospect in his position.

They may as well play him 75% of games the rest of the way, it’s kind important to figure out who Hank passes the torch too...in this case if it’s Georgy or someone else. Hank wants to play I know, but eff that loyalty right now

Hopefully by expansion time they can expose Lindbom lol

is there any circumstance you would consider him a trade chip or is he completely untouchable for you

I think given the timing, he’s untouchable. I know people are down on Olaf, but if someone like him was already putting up numbers in Europe, it would be different. Although Georgi can obviously improve, I’d say Shesty is our only legitimate goalie prospect right now. In a perfect world, id think Hanks contract would be one year shorter and Georgi would be like a Biron (before he got lit up against the Sharks)
