interesting. hope they show good and give TG something to think about.
while I'm expecting some more losses and falling away from any sort of playoff talk.
Go Petey. |

I meant dark chocolate. It’s Valentine’s Day and I want even the tankers to have a nice night |

Last year i predicted we'd pick 7th, when most on here were discussing a top 3 pick.
This year, i reckon we'll pick 9th.
Phillip Broberg maybe? - dbot
i earmarked him a while ago. could happen. doesnt seem like dons cup of tea though
i wouldnt mind looking at zegras/newhook/turcotte
need to scope some krebs and kaliyev too but after that (looks like a bunch of dmen) i've got nothing |

Not at all. It’s just the club still lacks a bit of clear direction, although NTC’s do play a part of it.
We have had quite a few first round picks under banning and they’ve been somewhat underwhelming. It’s a good thing Boeser has planned out this far because Juolevi has been slow to develop and Virtanen is a flop.
Granted, they’ve had some nice picks in the later rounds but the elite tAlent is at the top. You have to nail those picks IMO.
It’s nice to watch the youth develop ona night/weekly/ monthly basis, and either we make the playoffs or we have a chance at a high selection. I doubt we make the playoffs.
The real problem is that we’re approaching the next level and may have few stars from the draft to build upon. Sound familiar? |

I dont get the boner for this kid - from what i've seen and read he's a great skater but turnover machine, poor decision making and rushing that leads too little offence. He current has 1 goal in 36 games in Swedens second league on the best team (obviously he's young) but still - Do we really want another Dman that can't score?
Ive seen him ranked as high as 5th and as low as 28th - thats scary contrast |

That's the huge concern. Is it because he has to learn to play faster or does he just make bad decisions. |

That's right lose/lose for Hughes. |

Yup - don’t like him. byram is interesting. Just not a great D draft. Let’s find Bo a winger |

And keep in mind he is one of the higher thought about draft picks

This is kid people should be keeping on eye on - unreal speed, playmaker, deadly shot, plays centre but could fit perfectly with Bo on the wing |

not wrong on the picks.
i think their approach the last 3 years has been pretty sound - expect a low finish but try to build a "competitive" roster and hope for more (i.e. development from young players, better support players), avoid trading draft picks and maintain an eye on the future.
this team is just paper thin. the timing is still right. no need to panic.

Those are valid questions - to me it seems like if he's so great he should have those things somewhat in check at the Swe1 level. It's definitely not gonna get easier. |

So much is going to matter on how Hughes pans out as a pick, which is unfortunate. Maybe Woo will keep stepping forward. |

It won't get easier, and I really don't know the prospect but is it his first year playing with much older players ? I haven't seen splits or anything which would factor into my consideration. |
