Huh I wonder why! Could it be that they're seeing the same things all of us (minus a few posters) are seeing?? - bulet13

If Edmonton takes half, that is 3 million per year. Basically what we were paying Dale Weise. I'm ok with having Lucic on a 3rd line. Kind of reminds me of having Aaron Asham with Giroux and JVR their first year. If I can get a line of Lucic-Frost-and someone else young like Rubstov or someone like that I would be fine with that. Otherwise he can be sent to the minors and it only costs us 2 million.
Small price to pay so they don't feel like they have to overpay for Quick, Howard, or Crawford. - youarewrong
I would gladly retain 50% to get a deal done as far as Lucic goes....so Darren Dreger is reporting that our teams are in discussions over Talbot....what do you guys think about that?

Skating wise, Arron Asham was Anton Apolo Ohno compared to what Milan Lucic is now.
Hard pass on Milan Lucic. |

I wish that I could say that I was excited but it’s probably the right thing to do for Hart’s development. |

There was speculation yesterday that Simmonds might be willing to adjust his term to stay in Philly. If this is true, What would a contract be that your willing to give Simmonds if he resigns. I'm thinking 3 years @ 6.5 million and no NTC or NMC. |

I could be ok with that. I'm guessing we would be taking Lucic with Edmonton retaining half. It seems fair and probably best for Hart... Someone he already knows and likes and can be a split duty goalie. - youarewrong
not sure about lucid, but from what i read its more like talbot plus a pick for elliot to clear talbots cap hit |

I think it might just be clearing $ for EDM.... I don't see a pressing need for the Flyers for a UFA with a big cap hit who has sucked this year. I wouldn't mind Lucic at 3 mil a year.

Bob McKenzie per twitter
“Pro scouts have been cautious with their recent reviews on Simmonds.”
😑 - arichardson22
simmonds has not been physical and that's his game, he won't be till he has a new contract , can't blame him, his style of play results in injuries and with no guarantee past this season he is obviously taking it easy out there |

I get it, Simmonds was never a great 5v5 player, what he brings to a playoff team is grit, strength, ice cop, fighter, and a perfect fit for any pp, these are attributes that are in desperate need during the playoffs, just all around toughness
Guys like stone and panarin do not possess, playoffs are a totally different game and they actually check unlike regular season, can’t remember when a flyer last landed a good clean check on somebody - mydoglicks
He hasn't been doing this for pretty much the entire last 2 seasons.

Same goalie coach and they seem to have a good relationship so in that way it certainly makes sense...Talbots numbers are also partly because of the horrible play in front of him....change of scenery will do him some good

3 years at that might work....but only a limited no trade should ever be given. I think they need to be careful on the term though. Honestly I don't see anyone giving him more then 3 years come July 1rst anyways....might be smart of Simmond's to take less term now if he wants to stay in Philly. |

That’s what it should be is a cap shave....we have to make room for Sekera as is with our current cap situation

true but if i remember correctly, he was injured most of the year last year? played hurt in the playoffs, idk...its almost like he developed a bad attitude because he didn't get the contract he thought he deserved |

One main problem about Lucic, besides being Lucic, is the magic number 4. 4 MORE years, whether that is 6 million, 4 million or 3 million...very bad.
Getting Talbot early to possibly re-sign is not too valuable. Elliott for Talbot alone is a wash based on just cap savings.
So the question is what is Edmonton willing to give up so the pain of having his contract on the books 2,3 and 4 years down the line is tolerable? Certainly not a mid pick or prospect, you can get them without having to take on Lucic. |

But at 50% right? So it’s not as big of a headache but I would do that deal regardless just to move on from Lucic

I really hope Frost's game translates well to the NHL. The future looks bright fellow Flyers fans. Hang tight. - dubc55
Would you trade Frost and a D prospect for Panarin, just a hypothetical here. |

I was just responding to the ones that would take Lucic on at 3 mil per season....how about a second round pick?
