Yes. But we still have too many. Unless Edmonton gives us a pick tondo this, is say no thanks. If we want him in the offseason then sign him

Oh yeah, I want the sweetener for helping them get cap space for Sekera. I love how most Edmonton fans thinks it's about us wanting Talbot more that it's about Edmonton wanting his contract off the books.

Wondering what the idea would be regarding talbot? I guess we could take him on here and add to the goalie stockpile but I wouldn't give up any assets.
- Hextall271

I think the idea is to not repeat what happened this season. Hart is still young and could temporarily regress at some point. I don't think that is going to happen but he is very young. Stolarz has injury issues and a rebuilt knee. So if Hart regresses and Stolarz has more injury issues, what are they left with next year if they go into the season with Hart and Stolarz as the goalies.

I mean it's a little of both. Elliot is only a 1.375 cap savings for Edmonton vs Talbot if that's truly the trade plus a sweetener our way. If it's purely just Talbot here than thats a 4.1 million cap savings but they dont have a back up which makes no sense for a playoff run. So I'd assume they'd have to be taking elliot or stoly. In stoly case a young promising goalie plus were giving you cap relief to the tune of 3.4 million I'd want a much bigger sweetener than just taking a 1.375 cap difference for Talbot.

They only need 500k to activate sekera. They could easily just bury manning in the minors if it came to it.

This plus Talbot and hart are close friends so they suspect the tandem would be very in tune with making each other better and no hard feelings over starts etc. Its good to have two guys who would work together that way.

If they bury Manning it doesn't free them up for other moves. I really think they are looking for a good amount of cap space and may be burying Manning and also trading Talbot.

The question was if we go Hart/Stolie what do we do. I can see them using Lyon at that point. Yes a Vet would be an option too. But it's not the end of the world.

Oh yeah I get it. But in that case burying manning and trading Talbot for elliot accumulates them 2.1 million which is a little bit but not a lot. So makes you wonder what they truly want.

We will not go into next year with hart stoly Lyon as our 3 goalies for the NHL next year. I will promise you that.

We dont actually.

Talbot comes here and backs up hart.

McKenna is waived
Neuvirth, Elliott and Stolarz will likely be dealt. Neuvy probably waived.

One of those goalies easily goes to Edmonton. I could see it being Stolarz but i think Elliott is more likely.

Everyone of these mentioned goalies are ufas except stolarz who is an rfa. 2 goalies are gone for sure

All good points. Chiarelli isn't in charge anymore so I expect this doesn't happen. Edmonton is a tire fire.

I hope we're all in agreement that Elliott and neuvy have to walk. TBH, is be ok with adding a decent young backup like talbot but I'm not spending a pick to get him early and I'd only pay like 1.5 mil a year because the plan has to be to let hart play 60 games.

Flyers should have drafted Larsson instead of Coots to trade him for Hall.

Another Flyers fail, just like drafting Patrick instead of Hischier.

No question. Even the bottom six should be revamped due to who is coming off the books. I wouldn’t be surprised if Mac was bought out to make room for one of Myers or Morin.

I'm not sure I want to bank of Hart playing 60 games. I'd love it for that to be the case, which means he's a bona fide #1 starter...but I wouldn't wanna go into the season without a backup plan. And I think Talbot is a decent backup plan, a guy who can give you 30-40 games if needed.

With one year left, they could probably find a taker for AMac if they really wanted to. Dude can still play a bottom-3 role. He's just paid about $2.5M more than he should be. If they retain 50%, meaning his cap hit is only $2.5M, they'll find a home for him.

If not, he'd make a fine #7.

Haha. Yes. Complete idiots we are. Just like hexy should have used the first overall pick to draft ekblad cause you know Florida was giving it away.

That hall trade still chaps my ass. If you're going to give him away, don't give him to someone in our div!!
