It’s the one you’re not mentioning: taking a bottom feeder team to playing .500 puck. 90% of us had this as a bottom 5 team. Green has them playing well.
- neem55

I look at the conference as a whole, Canucks appear to be playing 500 hockey (and present standings show they are). But they are right in the thick of falling to the bottom.

But when i really look at the league, Vancouver is sitting in 20th place, a whole 6 pts over bottom 3-5 in the league. So I still believe that the bottom 5 is a very real possibility.

Green probably had a screaming case of ^ between periods last game

So when the dust settles, it's possible that we'll have:

Markstrom and Demko with Canucks
Mazanec and Kulbakov wih the Comets
Dipietro in the minors.

If Philli is forced to waive Mike McKenna and we take him, where would he slot in?

Utica, Kuby slides down to ECHL? Or they don’t claim him.

Not in the first 10 mins of every game, but that`s not Green fault right.
- A_SteamingLombardi

I know a few games back I criticized Green for not having the team prepared and I was told that's on the players not on Green.

So which is it, I fault Green

They need to play eye of the tiger before each period starts.

Could it be both? What if the players stink and Green’s a terrible coach? Would that make everyone happy?

If you include Benning you may have something.

that would make quite a few on here happy i suspect.
people need to hate something on this blog.
if not the gm, coach or players, the hate becomes focussed on each other.

I think I read that he has been up with the Rangers, but that he has another 20 or so days before he would require waivers. So unless Demko is out longer, shouldn’t be a problem.

I hope Benning drafts a couple of goalies in this weak draft.

All goalies would be great. Only way to put this catastrophic event behind the team

Really the problem goes back to the trading of Eddie Lack.
If we still had him in the system, we'd be better prepared.

They can fall in the west for sure, i am the type of person that will be very pleased with anothrr top5 pick to build around. That being said, this team just seems a bit more resilient this year. Just my opinion. But yes, we could nosedive, very possible.

Actually, pretty much. If you remember back at the end of camp what I said my expectations were?

Team would be more entertaining (younger) - check

Would finish with more points then last season (likely - check)

But

Would still finish near the bottom of the division/conference/league (still up in the air, but trending that way)

So all in all, I’m pretty happy with the season so far. Would like to see them stick to their guns on the trade players that won’t be part of the future part, get some extra picks etc.

Why stop there, we could discuss the merits of the Gillis era as well!
