Not arguing, just saying we've all known that since the start of the year. They've played some pretty good hockey for stretches this season and exceeded expectations. Just because they're having a slump now doesn't mean it's a big shock or that the plan of improving the team has to change at all

If the goal is to be playing meaningful hockey January / February (as stated by the coach et al) then the entire management team should be fired. Playoffs don’t start for a couple months yet.

If the goal is to be playing meaningful hockey in Jan/Feb and the players wilt, well, then the players need to change. I thought all the veteran leaders were supposed to drag the young guys through to the promise land?

Probably saw this as a transition year and didn't think Pettersson and the resurgence of Markstrom would have us in the hunt for playoffs. Next year they need to go after some defense and I wouldn't be surprised in a TOP UFA forward.
