Tom is a peach. He’s a lot more polite here then I am in the Ranger boards. And he knows his hockey so not a bad guy to have around. Just saying.

Nothing is going to happen. He seems like a decent lad. I don't know how we got into this dilemma honestly.

For crying out loud, we both viewed Oil90's troll attempt as bad, I just suggested (indirectly I might add) that he use better arsenal when trolling back. Like talk about our 1st's or GM failures or coaching issues.

can we get a mod for this one man spam?

It's been a bad year for the team overall so Severson is part of a struggling defense core backed by terrible goal tending. He is a good player but the next few seasons are going to be the make or break on whether he's a go-to player or just a decent defenseman.

I'll look into it.

How has his defensive game been this season though? I've always known Severson for his offensive abilities, and it seems like he may reach a new career high in points, but is he a liability defensively in any way? Does he pair up with Greene or Butcher in an optimal lineup?

I'm going to look at last night as a successful step in the Tank. Detroit beat Ottawa and LA got the OT loser point vs. Vancouver so good for us.... I feel so dirty.

I don't. My whole life we've never been in this position. Heck, last year we made the playoffs. But I'm used to playoffs and Cup contending every year. But then we were barren of youth and a future, old, crappy draft picks.. at least now there's something to look forward to with Hischier and this year's top 3 pick. I'm all for it. A franchise player for the sake of 1 crappy season is a fair swap. We'll probably blow our loads again next year. Is there a McDavid in next year's draft? Would be nice to get one of those in one of our rare crappy seasons that we're finally having. The last thing you want is to come out of bad years with mediocre players and then be in no-man's land for the next decade.

Outside of last year which was only successful thanks to a great start, we haven't been a playoff team since 2012. And we missed the playoffs in 2011 as well. So considering our great luck getting Nico from the 5th lottery spot we don't have that much to show for the futility. But yeah, if we get a franchise player or even a legit 1st line player then great.

This whole decade will go down as some of the some of the worst hockey in team history minus the anomaly that was the 2012 cup run

This years draft class is good at the top. Supposedly next year even better. The weakest draft class, and it is all relative, of the past few and two upcoming was Nico's year. Ecstatic we won the lottery that year.

Funny you say that. I'm reading a book title "Icing on the Plains" which is about the two years the team spent in Kansas City. Compared to what the Scouts endured it hasn't been that bad.... It's particularly insulting when you compare how the league made sure Vegas would be competitive from the get go but didn't give a crap about supporting expansion.

Better days ahead hopefully....

Reminds me of the 2006 run the Oilers had too. Just an anomaly. Having Chris Pronger did help though, but we were riding Roloson who was playing out of this world hockey during that playoffs stretch.

So you're telling me that the Hall for Larsson deal may actually end up being a win for us?
