I'd keep Simon out in favor of Bleuger. Cullen isn't coming out either and Sully loves ZAR so I imagine Wilson is out......which he shouldn't be. It wouldn't surprise me if Pearson got scratched at this point. He's not been noticeable enough.

Pearson has the tools to be noticeable. When he uses his body he can be quite effective, he also has pretty good hands and shot. He just doesn't seem to bring it every shift.

Aside from his gaff that led to us netting a shortie, I thought Pearson looked solid last night.

I still believe he will be very good once Malkin is back and not in a MASSIVE slump, as he was earlier this season.

I wouldn't scratch him either. Just saying he disappears at times when he's on the lower two lines. Like you, I'd have him with Malkin and Kessel.

He kind of reminds me of Hornie when he's on the lower two lines. Doesn't fit well. You get a lot more out of him with a dominant center.

I'd do it.

EDIT: though you are getting a player with term back for a UFA....2nd added might be too much....hmmm

EDIT: he's listed as a left handed RW...does he play LW at all?

Gus plays either wing. And I will be flipping Pearson in this alternate reality where I am the GM for DET.

Yeah, hopefully we get an extended look of him with Geno and Phil on Saturday. I think Sully is going to put Bjugs on that 2nd line though, unfortunately.

Flipping a player with term though.

So will Pearson and a 4th get it done?

No. I don't consider additional term on Pearson to necessarily be a good thing.

Remember you got him for Hagelin and let's not pretend Hagelin and Nyquist have equal value.

I would absolutely do that! Nyquist would be great and the Pens need to get rid of that contract moving forward.

You are right, the term on Pearson's contract is a handicap.

Even though I like the idea of Pearson, he’s encroaching on negative value. $3.5 mil for a guy who’s producing at 4th line rates is a really bad contract. I think a 2nd is pretty in bounds. A 4th would be a heist.

You run a tight ship, Feds. Alright, 2nd it is. Picks really dont matter all that much to me right now, not even that 1st they have, though it would be a bit cool to see a 1st round pick again draft night haha. Its been like 5 years I think since we've seen one.

Yep. Then the Manning, Wideman and Petrovic trades?????!?
- RafiDRW

In Manning's defense, he was the only player to completely shut down McDavid.

2014, Kasperi Kapanen, was the last one I think.

Glad someone else noticed this. Major Juniors fans are weird, man. They’re the same breed as people that are super into state high school football.

If teams are smart they would throw around 2nd a 3rds like crazy then come draft day trade the first back for 2 2nds.

Picks outside of the top 10 all have relatively similar value on average:

Same Kapanen was a fan favorite during his time in Philly. Was small, played like he was Chara's size. Shifted to defense for our run to the ECF in 2004.
