The last game against the Rangers was honestly the first time I've notice them do it. I thought, wow that's a nice change. Don't recall it standing out before Sunday. Certainly didn't against Montreal.

i've always wondered why players dont just let the team play 5 on 4 for 5 seconds to get a new stick instead of basically being totally useless and hemmed in for a minute without a stick

Good of Marleau to give up his stick, but really. When it's a forward missing a stick, they are just so useless most of the time, I think it'd be smarter to just hurry to the bench and make a change or grab a new stick and hurry back. You're not really helping anyways.
