You answered a post about JJs playing time, I misread who you were asking about and simply replied about JJ and not Schultz.

I saw where you said JJ was a good player. Don’t try and hide it now.

Anyway, at this point your healthy top 6 is Dumo Letang, Petterson Schultz, and Johnson Riikola. Do you make a move for another right D? Or try to get a left shot and leave JJ playing RD?
Rental market is weak

Rutherford is regularly having night sweats about still having his 1st rounder. I think Maatta going down long term guarantees he'll be trading for D.

Part of me thinks they should throw the baby out with the bath water and attempt to move Maatta + 1st for Manson or Montour.

That’s just my “sky is falling” headpace right now though.

Hahaha, I feel like they wont jump the gun. If anything I think a cheaper rental like Nick Jensen might be brought in.
If they do make a move, it's for a long term solution at RD. Schultz is UFA after next season.

I was actually taking him at his word that he didnt want to move it, but now I have no faith.

I am in shock, this is the closest you came to saying something positive about Maatta. He has been very steady. Everyone harps on JJ and Maatta, I am worried about Pettersson and how long he can stay healthy, he seems exceptionally fragile, an injury waiting to happen.

I'm not sure I ever believed him about keeping the pick. He's a trade junkie and rightfully believes the window is shutting.

Plus.... This team is not playing well. If they were humming along at 110 point pace, yeah, he'd probably be able to control himself.

I'm just not sure who is worth it. If the 1st gets moved I'd like to see some salary going out with it and something retainable coming back.

I'm hoping they call up Ethan Prow he has been tearing it up for WBS this year! 15 goals and 37points so far in 49 games. He's a right handed shot. He has been playing well this season. Honestly I would be stoked if Prow and Bluegar get to lead the big pens like they were killing it for the little guys

There was actual contact in that situation though...two times there was contact.

Anyone else remember Letang slashing Stalberg in the face in the playoffs a few years back? Right in the face. No suspension.

- MattStrat

I know that is how it is but its a stupid policy. If I try to shoot you in a parking lot and miss you, you think my jail time should be lessened because I failed to kill you? The intent is there and that should matter. That being said, probably avoid me in parking lots

It shouldn't matter whether Malkin hit him or not. The intent was there and Malkin knew exactly what he was doing. Geno had full control of his stick.

It should be three or four games, but it won't be because Malkin is a star and the league is notorious for under-penalizing these types of players.

There's absolutely no place for this kind of crap that could have resulted in a very serious injury.

Whether it was an emotional response or not, it was still an intent to injure.

Pretty much every time I've gotten mad and reacted emotionally I've gotten into a load of trouble.

Seriously think that the DOP dropped the ball on this. I also think that Malkin's attitude towards it is poop. Anyone who's played the game knows that a pinch to the helmet by a gloved hand can piss you off, but isn't that bad. A stick swung recklessly high with intent to make contact (as it was a blind swing) can be deadly. 5-10 games minimum and absolute bullpoop.

Yeah...again, I believe that a lot of people on here have played the game at some level. So, most of those people have gotten punched with a gloved hand. My response has never been to take off their head.
