The leafs would be (frank)ing crazy to go anywhere near a deal like that.

I'd probably do it straight up, but yeah you're nuts if you think you're getting more either way.

Nylander has 10 points in 27 games. Is getting paid almost 7 million. Leafs have to trade him and everyone knows that. His value couldn’t be any lower.

Yeah that's pretty brutal. Trade Nylander for a rental?? That's on a whole other spectrum of crazy. IMO they should trade Zaitsev + for cap space. Just find someone who will bite and not send a bad contract back....looking at you Arizona...

Not terrible but that offer is easily beat by many other teams.
- Feds91Stammer

The market will be flooded so cost will go down. Duchene, Stone, Panarin are likely all available. Not to mention that Skinner may be as well. Some playoffs teams have either already moved out top picks (SJ and Toronto) and others have already indicated that they will not be in the rental business. In the end, there will be a handful of teams vying for these players. Senators have messed this up so badly.

Please don't call Detroit. Holland would likely take Zaitsev.

In this day and age with computers and video replay, why do scouts bother going to the games? Seems like a waste of time and money to fly a scout to a different city to watch 1 game. Why arent all the scouts in the video room watching replays of recent games to decide how well a player is doing? Seems like they do it cause "thats how its always been done"

I have said it before and feel the need after last night's proof that the Flyer's still can't beat the Pens (or the ref, I know honest mistake but...).

I like Wayne Simmonds PLUS for Nylander.

Nylander helps keep the Flyer's "window open" and gives TOR much needed cap space to do things like sign Marner who is a total stud.

Simmonds is a favorite of mine. He will kill in the playoffs for Toronto. Just what they need. Simmonds also wants to get paid LONG TERM and he will get that. I am just not sure the Flyers are the right team to do that especially in terms of well... term.

Now we know how Toronto fans get. Fully unrealistic. They are always trading for the best players and giving 7th round picks back. The Flyers don't need to add TOO MUCH to the deal. Perhaps one of their depth buy young D-men? A solid pick?

The rule has to be changed. I don't care if the ref blows the whistle, the puck was clearly never covered. The idiots in stripes are making too many mistakes and there's a very easy way to fix that. Give them less power.

Also, yes. The Flyers would really need to add a big plus to get Bill Ny.

I get a kick out of that too. "The Leafs are looking at Dougie Hamilton." Is he making his NHL debut? Are Canes games blacked out? What's the big mystery?

Apparently the Leafs have sent their assistant GM to watch Checkers games, which honestly makes more sense. Not sure what anyone hopes to glean from watching Hamilton live vs on TV. The guy's been in the league for 7 years and is 26 years old. What the (frank) else could you possibly learn?

Im waiting for computer programs that can measure skating acceleration, shot speed, top speed, etc just from videos of the games. Then they would be able to tell you if a player has gotten worse recently, or has a nagging injury. It would also obviously be a great tool for the draft.

Only if it's for Marleau, Zaitsev and any other junk they don't want.
