I don't mind video review for a goal call. How many times do they not realize a puck went all the way in and bounced off the back of the net because it's so fast and sounded like it hit the crossbar. Too often for those goals not to count. - bodiva88
The net can be redesigned for more visual cues.
It's a game played by humans in real time and officiated by humans in real time. It should go back to that way, imho.
Just for fun....Some possible line combinations (including names) that could happen over the next year or so. Obviously, I have left off many, many possible players and didn’t include anyone not currently with the Flyers organization. Some thought was given to combining players that have potential to produce together and serve a role on their imaginary team. My selections were limited to list only 1-4 lines.
i hate how coaches just default to challenge goals it gets very boring and ruins the flow of the game - 2Real
Well the coach can only challenge if he has a time out. If he loses, that's it, no time out and no new challenge. Off sides challenge Have almost gone because of the delay of game.
Based on the number of participating athletes, bandy is the world's second-most participated winter sport after ice hockey.Bandy is also ranked as the number two winter sport in terms of tickets sold per day of competitions at the sport's world championship.
However, compared with the seven Winter Olympic sports, bandy's popularity among other winter sports across the globe is considered by the International Olympic Committee to have a, "gap between popularity and participation and global audiences", which is a roadblock to future Olympic inclusion.
My apologies, not my intent. In my opinion, some coaches and I believe Gordon is doing this, use ice time in certain situations to reward players for the way they play. Raffl smartly baited a player with a known issue to try and draw a penalty. Raffl isn't a player that normally rabbit punches players in the back of the head. Gordon gave him PP time there for drawing the penalty and taking a stick to the head for the team. It's a method of team building. - MJL
See, I like that end agree. Plus he needed to rest some gassed players. Raffl can be useful in that situation.

I can live without reviews. Although I'm on board if the technology is developed to see if the puck crosses the goal line. That is the only issue that needs to solved. All the rest is judgement call at the time.

I was female doging about Raffl being out there while I was watching. Then it dawned on me that it was the last 5 minutes of the very hard game and a 5 minutes power play. Can't just use 5 or 6 guys or even just the same 10 or 12 guys. They were gassed. Needed someone else for a minute or two. Yeah, all those other guys were on the bench. Perhaps being rested for their next shift. Can't be out there the whole time. - jaws1955
You can double shift if need be. Anyone outside of the main core is likely to see a very short shift. We had pressure when Raffl came on the ice.

I dont see how a tiny microchip cant be inserted into the puck that will definately tell if a puck goes offsides or in the goal. We shouldnt need to eye test anymore.
This would include those glove saves that you cant tell where the puck is, but most of the glove breaks the plane of the goal or when a goalie has the puck under his pads but slides into the net...

Just let the refs judge it, the challenging the offsides is ridiculous. You let a play go on for a minute and then backtrack it for a goal.

Here me go with the "just puck a chip in it" idea again...

Chipping the puck and the line is way more complicated than it sounds. Basically the entire surface area of the puck must have sensors as well as only the back of the line in the ice.
Chip does nothing for offside unless you chip the players' skates, too. Exponentially more difficult than chipping to test for a goal.

And then it takes 5 minutes of slow motion back-and-forth and zooming in to guess that it was or wasn't a millimeter offside. It's a crappy situation.

I'm saying there should be no review at all, refs make a judgement call when calling offisides during game play and that's it.
Mistakes happen. Mistakes happen with video review all the time so it's not making the game any better nor is it making it more correct. - Scoob
So if the Flyers score the Stanley Cup-winning goal but it gets missed and they go on to lose the series, you'd just be, "Ho hum, them's the breaks." I wouldn't be.
