Nobody will ever be able to convince me a fourth line guy, who hasn’t seen very much PP (if any) in his career, with the right choice as an extra attacker, with an arsenal of players still on the bench. - SuperSchennBros
Well, Giroux et. al. can't play the entire 2:30, the need to be spelled. So you need 10-12 guys total.
I'm not saying Raffl was the right choice for the 6th man, but they needed 2 goals and couldn't leave the same 6 out there for the entire rest of the game, so they needed someone. I would have gone with;

I would have gone with the same thing they’ve been going with all season, which also worked on Thursday against the kings.
Giroux, Voracek, Simmonds, JvR, Ghost...with Couturier as the extra attacker. I guess it wouldn’t have mattered because Ghost was struggling that much to get point shots through.
Patrick, Konecny, Lindblom, Sanheim, Provorov and even Laughton are guys I like as 6 attackers head of Raffl.
The only thing a replay would show is that the whistle blew. It's official error, but if you do replay of that then we all need screens on our seats for every call and noncall in the game. - bodiva88
What we really need is to abolish all video review.

Right, but against LA, they only needed 1 goal and they were out for less than 2 minutes. I'd have to watch again, but I think they had Hart out for over 2:30, so you can't just keep the same 6 on the ice. But yeah, I would have gone wit Laughton as my second unit 6th.

I was female doging about Raffl being out there while I was watching. Then it dawned on me that it was the last 5 minutes of the very hard game and a 5 minutes power play. Can't just use 5 or 6 guys or even just the same 10 or 12 guys. They were gassed. Needed someone else for a minute or two. Yeah, all those other guys were on the bench. Perhaps being rested for their next shift. Can't be out there the whole time.

You forgot the part where they would only actually play for 5 or 10 seconds out of every minute.

I love how this sport just incorporates every goofy change I feel like I've heard from people when talking about how to increase offense in hockey over the past 25 years.
I will speculate that there is a pretty obvious reason why he out Raffl out there. - MJL
That's twice now you have made basicly the same cryptic comment about Raffls use last night. Why do you do this? Why not just voice your opinion. Is this so you can wait for some one to respond then you can take the opposite position or just use more vague rebuttals. Dude just make your point. No need for head games.
EDIT: Sorry guys, couldn't help myself. I'm out!

The NFL is unwatchable now with the way they review every play. Unwatchable.

I don't mind video review for a goal call. How many times do they not realize a puck went all the way in and bounced off the back of the net because it's so fast and sounded like it hit the crossbar. Too often for those goals not to count.

But I've still never seen the Kane goal go in. - bodiva88
i hate how coaches just default to challenge goals it gets very boring and ruins the flow of the game

My apologies, not my intent. In my opinion, some coaches and I believe Gordon is doing this, use ice time in certain situations to reward players for the way they play. Raffl smartly baited a player with a known issue to try and draw a penalty. Raffl isn't a player that normally rabbit punches players in the back of the head. Gordon gave him PP time there for drawing the penalty and taking a stick to the head for the team. It's a method of team building.
