This is confusing but if I get what your saying correctly, I don't think there is any violation there. - MJL
Something to think about, not sure if either party would go for it but if he wants to be here and we want him to be a Flyer then they should think outside the box on this one. |

i just wish they would let the game breathe a bit. the non-stop volume 11 blare of santa sacks, find the puck game and horrendous music between the whistles is brutal.
shut. up. - hammarby31
This goes for commentators too. Harry Kalas was a master at this. Sometimes nothing was said over the course of an entire batter. It is terrific.
Of course it varies by sport. The ambience of baseball in particular is a great thing. The crack of the bat, snap of the glove, crowd vendors, etc. |

Cap hit isn't the issue if the term was under 3 years. Over three years everything becomes a puzzle. - dragonoffrost
Simmonds is not signing for three years or less as it is his last chance to cash in, he will want security of longer than 3 years. This unfortunately is why he needs to go. |

Well I guess this’ll really piss you off then... I think pit doesn’t make the playoffs. Not impressed with their depth and goalies. And fugly is always injured. Tonight starts the real push to playoffs |

Simmer would never do this though. Why wouldn't he take a contract with term and gurantee he's gets paid even if he gets hurt |

You know things are not looking bright when the crazy scenarios are coming out, it's either sign or do not sign. |

I hardly ever go to games for this reason. It’s an audio and visual assault. I’d rather watch it at home. |

Re:Simmonds
I have to imagine Fletch made him an offer and set a deadline to get him to sign it. This close to the deadline that point has either already passed or we are dangerously close to it. The chances of him returning at this point are quite slim in my eyes. |

I think there is a much better chance some team overpays for Simmonds with picks or players at the TDL . I don’t see him getting a JVR contract. JVR a bit younger, much less mileage on the body and coming off a career year. Simmonds pretty much the opposite. Time will tell. |

I know, the wink was trying to imply sarcasm. Crosby and whomever is on his wing always scores on us. Im flyers first, but i try to watch and enjoy all hockey teams. My second favorite team was probably the old jets. They had some fun teams to watch from early 80s to when they were forces to move. - twotoekenn
Leight but aside from the flyers I cheer for the Nashville predators!
I've been to a game there and I have never seen fans or an arena like I did there!!
Its such a good hockey city now.
Anyway....those are my teams and outside of that I cheer for individual players. Like MacKinnon and Johnny hockey

Honestly I am more interesting to find out which teams actually offer him a contract in the offseason. There are some teams with cap space, like the Devils, but will they offer what Simmonds is seeking? I could see him signing with someone in September. |

Fvcking love it! - cdearth23
As awesome as that moment was, it would probably be a slew of penalties. This is your “new” softer NHL. Today’s refs LOOK for crap to call. Sad state of the game. |

A lot of things have changed from the 70's and 80's, but focusing mostly on your comment of the refs I don't think they call the game because it's "softer". I personally believe the refs want to be part of the game more than they use to be which is causing the problem.
There is absolutely no standard across the board for making calls. Some refs want a more physical game where another may want a non-contact game of free flow skating. Rules are no longer are called by the book, but what the ref decides at the moment. Players today have no clue what will be called period to period let alone game to game. I truly feel refs have a bigger impact on the outcome of games now then they did in the past. |

I loved watching the Avs during their cup runs. Sakic, Forsberg, Deadmarsh, Roy, Foote just wow.
I just hated Claude... - dragonoffrost
Never met Claude, but Jocelyn used to coach his son's Pee Wee team in Scottsdale while I was an official. Total d-bag. Every game was the last :30 of game 7. I tossed him once and he went completely ballistic. A real class act. |
