Yeah I think for his first year or two he will look a lot like Stecher.

I would like to see us go the Calgary route. They had one or two good D and then traded for Hamilton and then Hamonic . Then they did Hanafin Lindholm deal this year that seemed to be the piece to finish the puzzle.

I would like to see us do the Hamonic type deal this year. By that I mean a trade for a second pairing RHD trade.

Hanafin and Lindholm deal worked out well for the flames

You can't be (frank)en serious on that.

- manvanfan

You can't be serious and think he is going to own the league. He does have flaws in his game you know.

He will be effective on the PP . He will get overpowered by NHL players at the start . There will be growing pains just like every other player that steps out of college and into the NHL.

Hughes plays "rover" he has a long way to go before playing top pairing minutes in the NHL , where 4th liners will make him look silly at times

Vancouver gets a little over an hour less sunlight per day than Winnipeg. I'd sacrifice that hour anytime.

Without including picks will be tough

He will look silly at times, but he'll also make the opposition look silly at times. I don't think he's coming as a saviour to our D corps, but he's going to make it more dynamic.

I'd still love to find a #1D in either this draft or the next.

This is actually one of the best drafts in years to include picks but being held in Vancouver it is a non issue.

I think JB stands pat, he won't get in a bidding war.

Leivo 7 goals 12 points in 24 games. That is something to keep an eye on . He is producing when he plays with Petey.
- VANTEL

Canucks actually have a number of great shooters, Leivo is one of them. I can’t remember the Canucks having so many players who can really snap the puck.

Stecher wasn't and isn't effective on the PP, therefore your comparison isn't really any better then that of the rest of the experts, you know, the other guy.

Sacrifice it for 11 months of weather that's above 0 degrees, easy. Minus 40 and flat land isn't very fun.

Rainy season replaces -30 season. When it does get sunny, you can play golf or participate in other outdoor activities without concern of hypothermia. If you want snow, drive for an hour.

He said he is not trading draft picks and I believe he wont.

This years draft has two Dmen ranked in the top in the top 15 picks . Byram and Broberg. Byram will probably go in the top 5 .

That leaves you with the hope of having Broberg available when your shot comes up at number 12. Then you hope that in three years he turns out to be a NHL player . You are basically drafting Fabbro three years later.

Hughes skating and playmaking ability is already above what Stecher brought in his rookie year. I would expect much more than a Stecher clone.
