I don’t usually post after games because emotion comes into play but geez what an embarrassment of a performance offensively and even more so on the PP. Listen I love Shattenkirk and that he was a true die hard Rangers fan like us. Also the fact he took less money to come here, but talk about an overrated defenseman. Really doesn’t bring much to the table considering what we expected.

Offensively this team is so inept but ultimately tonight showed who they truly are. One mistake in your own end and the game is over. Everyone in that building knew once Carolina scored the game was over. As far as I am concerned major changes need to continue to happen to this roster. To much mediocrity throughout the lineup that just aren’t good enough. As far as I am concerned Vesey, Namestikov, Fast, Buchnevich, Strome, and Nieves are all the same. They either are offensive players that aren’t producing enough or much of a factor or they are on the other end supposed to be defensive mind players that don’t chip in enough offensively. They gotta trade Hayes and Zuccarello and get as much value possible for them.

Only keepers on this team from a forwards point of view IMO are:
Z-Bad
Kreider
Chytil

Completely agree on shattenkirk. One of my friends was hardcore for signing him. I was never a huge fan. Where. He took a discount to come here I just shrugged and let's see what happens. He was already becoming somewhat exposed in Washington when they traded for him making my want to acquire him diminish even more. At this point I put him in the redden category. Not as bad as him but he's getting there. The game on Wednesday vs Boston he was late covering pastrnak when he scored in front of the net.

Comparing Shatty to Redden is a bit extreme but i am just disappointed with his offensive game. Defensively I knew he wasn’t the best but I could deal with his flaws in his own end if he could pot 50 points as a defensman. At this point he is similar to Del Zotto.

No doubt, Shatty has zero value if he isn’t producing offensively. At this point, Kevin Klein was giving us more offense. I’m just dissapointed in the team. They couldn’t get up for this night of all nights. It’s one thing if it was the Pens or Caps and you tried, but they are just better and we get run out of the building. To put no effort on a huge night while making the Hurricanes look like the 2000 Devils? There is no excuse

yo Adam waassssssssup, long time no see

I actually am starting to compare Skjei to Del Zotto, there's lots more in common there

Staal, Smith, Shatty, those three S's, just riding out all three contracts at this point

no more defensemen that start with S

I think Vesey would be a really good 4th line forward at this point

I think if they accepted that and gave him that role, he'd thrive.

Othwerwise, he just doesn't have NHL level hands

I really thought shatty would be an upgrade since Yandle. He looks terrible. As I have stated before we have 0 top 4 defenseman on this team. All bottom pairing guys

Skeji is hands down biggest disappointment on the defensive side of this team. Especially after signing that contract. Del zotto comparison is spot on

Yeah they gave him an opportunity to be a top guy and he's run with it. That Nino-Aho-Williams line has had some long, long shifts in the offenseive zone since they put it together.

Longer than that. I don't expect chytil to be the main support but Hayes has been quiet since his return. Buch looks disinterested more than half the time. Vesey is feeling like he was overhyped when he signed two years ago
- Lundqvist79

Look who his line mates are though. Vesey who can't score on open nets, and Buch plays hard 1 out of every 10 games. Every team knows now, shut down the 1st line, the rest of the game is gravy.

Jimmy it’s definitely been a long time lol. The sooner they trade Zuccarello and Hayes the better off we will be going forward. I think with Brady Skjei he is what he is. He got the contract he got because of the playoff performance he had his rookie season. Never thought he was going to bring a ton of offense but did think he would be much better off the rush and making better decisions with and without the puck. Some times I think he is just a dumb hockey player and when he loses confidence it’s all down hill. There are times times where you say to yourself, “wtf is he doing?” He is an excellent skater and is steady for the most part but is he top pairing defensman, absolutely not. That 1st goal Carolina scored he never picked up the man in the slot. Those are mistakes that can’t be made.

Vesey works extremely hard but he reminds me of a forward version of Matt Gilroy. Like Jimmy said if they can accept the fact he is a 4th liner then that’s a good fit for him.

Buchnevich on the other hand is extremely frustrating because you see the skill but it’s not nearly consistent enough. He reminds me of a poor mans Benoit Pouliot. So much skill but never knew what player was going to show up night to night.

Yeah I have no issue with Vesey as a 4th even 3rd liner. Even with his awful hands, he could be a 20g scorer that works hard every game.

I just think the biggest problem right now besides the defense is no top six wingers except Kreids and Zuke. I really hope they try to draft/sign/or trade for some top 6 wingers this year.

That line should have scored twice last night at least. Vesey sucks and Hayes tried literally deke and pass a puck into a net.

Buch drew that penalty with about 5 minutes left last night. The Rangers proceeded to do nothing with it.

+1

The Rangers were on the PP with under 5 mins to go and we sent out Strome? Definitely need to upgrade talent on the wings.

You mean the great move he made, that Slavin made an even better defensive play? Yeah that was awful by Hayes

Vesey sucks, because he was involved and noticeable all game. Buch is awesome cause he drew a penalty .

Yeah, he didn't shoot the puck with some pace. Hayes has had a problem with that his whole career.

Seriously if you think Hayes did any thing wrong on that play I don't know what to say. He beat everyone and had an open net, and Slavin made a great defensive play. Sometimes you have to tip your hat to the other team.

If not for Slavin that game is 3-0 Rangers heading into the 3rd.

Brind'amour was pissed at the team in the 2nd intermission. They were sloppy and and only playing at like 80%
