It’s not the NBA - where a top-pick can make a dramatic difference in the fortunes of a team - as Zion Williamson is expected to do this time.

Even Connor McDavid - or a Crosby, Kane, or three other overall #1s by Edmonton can’t - by themselves - guarantee a championship contender.

Plus - even winning the tank war (in both leagues) only guarantees a 17% chance (14% in basketball, I think) at the first pick.

Tanking is overrated.

He really is, along with Boeser the Canucks have a fantastic top duo. I wouldn't be surprised to see them land a big free agent forward this summer. Maybe not a Panarin or Stone, but the next tier for sure. I could see Duchene signing with Vancouver.

Boeser was drafted #23 in his draft year, more evidence that a solid player can be selected outside the top 5. 2015 was a solid draft year, the 3rd overall will likely be the best of the class.

Saw Floyd in '95 in Indy for their Division Bell (?) tour, post-Waters. They were good, very good.
Up there with Clapton and, believe it or not, Jackyl with best live performance I ever saw.

No offense, but if Jackyl is among your best live shows attended, you may need to get out there and see more shows. I kid. I only know a few of their songs, but wasn't big on what I heard. Oh well, some bands are better live too.

Never saw the other three guys perform, and with Wright passing on, no chance of a reunion ever...that and the fact that Waters and Gilmour can't stand the sight of each other, means the remaining three will likely never tour again.

Not that I'm excusing Waters, because I think he's a total ass. He's a control freak, but he knows how to make good music. His solo career kicks the crap out of Gilmour, imo. I like some songs here and there, but Waters is just crazy good. I'm sure he butted heads with Jeff Beck when they did pros and cons of hitch hiking.

If the deal is "right" then anyone can be traded, but Hayden is not someone I'd just "give away", he's one of the few guys on this team who is big and will hit. His play down low/along the boards is impressive and he's playing very well lately. Hell, even Kruger has been playing better. Kunitz is completely done at this point, doubt they'd get even a low draft pick for him.

When does Cornelison get a bobblehead?
