David Kampf will miss 3-4 weeks after suffering a foot injury in Tuesday's game, the Blackhawks announce. A source says he broke a small bone in his foot.

AA likely back at center. No word of a call up yet.

Yeah, his 16 points, 45% at the Dot and zero skill are really going to be missed
He isn't going to be missed at all. And AA has been playing center for awhile now. Kruger has been on the wing...

to state the obvious...the hawks in playoff contention just tells you how weak and meh the WC has been: the bottom 9 WC teams are big blob of bad
- bogiedoc

100% agreed. They are 3 points from the 2nd wild card spot and 3 points from the Kings for last place. They have to leap frog 5 teams and only Vancouver has played as many games as the Hawks.. The other 4 teams have games in hand.

So while it's exciting to see them play exciting hockey, the young guys develop, it's hard to think the playoffs are a reality. Especially when you have the worst the PK in the league and are close to the bottom in goals against per game.

Sell the veterans you can to clear cap room, take on younger players and picks, and don't lose sight of what this team really is......not a true bottom feeder, but not a playoff team either.

The last this team needs is Stanley dumping picks and prospects to Philly for Wayne Simmonds.

28 games to go.....95 points usually gets you in...so the Hawks need to average 1.57 pts a game the rest of the way.

I'm not touting him as a great player, but he was doing exactly what was asked of him very well. He is overcast as a 3C, but he is defensively very good.

It baffles me at how many people only look at point production and fail to see the importance of defense. Especially on this team, which has had issues keeping the puck out of their net.

Things are very bad for him right now.

I watched the original "The Italian Job" the other month. Benny Hill is a riot in that film.

Hey Rain, would you include Toews, or Kane in these discussions? In general, my mantra is that you can trade anyone as long as the return is worth it. The return would have to be huge in my book for either of those two.

I almost didn't recognize you by the avatar change ... then I saw it was a post about Carolina.

Sad to hear about Darling. Maybe Chicago will always just be his home.

That sucks. I thought I heard he had some personal issues shortly after he got there. I wonder if it was just the pressure of being a starter that got to him.

I really think the trade bothered him. You could tell he really loved playing for the Hawks. I was happy for him though as going to the Canes would have given him a starting job. That guy battled back from alot in his life. Hope he keeps his head up and stays strong.

He seemed genuinely happy to be in Raleigh, but something went amiss early and he was never able to get back on track.

Watch Colliton go rogue and put Hayden at center between Saad and AA.

Maybe. They showed faith in him in giving him another shot this year and, well, that went even worse. He seems like a great guy, but he's cooked.

Regarding another ex-Hawk, has TVR gotten better at anything or is he still a solid #5.

Delia starting tonight. Not unexpected, but I will say this... I think this is telling in how the FO and coaching staff view this season. With as well as Ward played against the Oilers, you would think he would get consecutive games (especially with a day off in between).

The fact that they are going to Delia, at least to me, says that they know that this is simply a building year. Yes they are going to do everything they can to win each night, but they are not going to make any drastic moves to try and get into the tournament this year. I really hope that I am right as I would hate for them to send away high potential pieces for this year.

This is where my head is at with how the Hawks may be proceeding with the approaching TDL and fight for a playoff berth. Stay the course with deals they were expected or at least rumored to make prior to the surge, i.e. trading off Kunitz, Kruger, maybe Hayden. Any big moves will be this summer. And any surprise moves would be of the no brainer, win-win hockey trade variety.

With the Hawks surging and not far behind a wildcard spot, generally try to win with who you have now on the roster with tinkering around the edges (see above). This would give the youth the experience to be in the hunt, and if fortunate to get in to the tourney, experience to be in the playoffs. That will make them hungrier for years moving forward, regardless of whether or not they make the dance.

Benny Hill was the best, I remember watching his show as a kid. It would never be made today but it was hilarious.

He's an okay depth guy. I think he sticks out in a bad way because of the rest of the defense we have, though.

If the Canes can't deal one of their bigger RHD for a forward soon though, TVR is going to be traded for whatever they can get before the deadline.

Watched him struggle horribly his first year and then gave him another shot after he stayed in Raleigh all summer to work with the team trainers and goalie coaches every day.

Then he was even worse.

Real bummed to see this. He's totally lost his mojo. He's not back on the sauce I hope. Maybe coming back to the Hawks would help him? I know, not a great contract but he's the kind of guy I root for beyond the obvious guys (Kane, Toews, etc.).

Perlini takes Kampf's spot, with Kruger moving to center. Forsling in for Dahlstrom. Delia in net.

So Saad-Kruger-Perlini
Kunitz-AA-Hayden?

Jeremy Colliton said there are no plans to call anybody up from Rockford just yet. #Blackhawks are at 12 forwards right now with Kampf (foot injury) out.

Nilsson?
- boilermaker100

In terms of who to recall from Rockford if that's coming up:

- If a center, then Johnson or Nilsson; my guess is Johnson.
- If a winger, then Knott but could see Colliton wanting Fortin again.
- If the best player available, then Sikura.

If a total recall, then this guy:
