ALMOST went the entire blog without a douchy and/or condescending comment. Baby steps, I guess.

Sure he can. He makes it a point to do so in the biggest douchebag way possible every blog. Very tiring.

Nyquist and Helm (50%) for Pearson and a 1st
- Feds91Stammer

I do that in a heartbeat.

I don't remember, does Gustav play LW or RW?

edit: Pens would need to clear more cap.

I enjoy the Pens news and discussion, could do without the snide "I'm smarter than every NHL GM" comments nearly every blog.

I'm curious how RW thinks Pearson is the same as he was in LA? Pearson had 1 point in 17 games with LA and now has 13 in 36 games with the Pens.

I used to think Wayne Simmonds would be a dream addition to the Pens. I never thought much about it though because I know PIT and PHI wont do a trade with each other...but a few things just caught my eye:

1. The TSN guys are putting his value basically the same as guys like Ferland & Hayes.

2. He's only making $3.9M. (I thought it was higher)

3. His SKATR chart looks pretty awful. (Any idea why? Have we vastly overrated him? His game score is 30, Hornqvist as a comparable is 95.)

I doubt even GMJR can pull off the wizardry/3 team deal to get Simmonds here...but point is, maybe he's not the perfect addition I once thought?

I'm sure he is referring to LA prior to this season which based on PIT production he is still below that level which based on his age is relatively normal.

Simmonds is probably the worst fit possible. A RW that doesn't do much other than stand in front of the net.

I always liked Helm. You could do worse for $1.9M. Then again, I haven't watched him play in about 5 years haha.

No Malkin at practice. That probably doesn’t bode well for a retun tomorrow night.

This is true. But if it's what you need to do to get Nyquist, I'm not opposed.

As a general strategy, I like the idea of speedy/versatile bottom 6 guys. McCann is a perfect example.

side note: still hate that he picked the cursed #19.

His game really took a nosedive 2 years ago. He got injured early last season and has never really recovered.

Edit: He's better than Boedker (graphs to follow, I'm sure).

Yeah I guess when you consider that a Johnson makes North of 3 mil you could do worse, but you shouldn’t actively try. That’s a really bad contract.
