Yeah I mean it really shouldn't matter to anyone. They are doing their thing, you do your own thing. So many people get caught up in other people's lives just live your own and not worry what they are doing. Amirite?

I have the attitude that if what someone (or someones) is/are doing isnt harming me, other people or the person/people doing it, then who gives a fvck.

Live and let live, different strokes for different folks, to each their own, etc.

I will be surprised if Rutherford makes any moves other than a depth move. More than likely an AHL depth move. He makes enough mistakes but the one thing he does well is be patient. And that really helps when trade deadline comes around.

At best Maatta is a number 4. I just don't see him stepping up his game when called upon. I am not just talking about situations like now when a player is hurt, but also in tight games when you need someone unexpected to make a big play. I guess though, when the defensemen is not noticed it is good enough.

That’s exactly why he’s a 2nd pairing defenseman. Coming from the back end makes unexpected big plays (which are more often than not going to be offensive plays) more rare and shows why guys like Letang, Subban, Hedman, etc. are so valuable. While everyone kind of expects them to jump into plus and what’s not; that’s what makes them top pairing guys.

I tend to consider 2nd pairing guys more equivalent to 3rd line forwards as opposed to 2nd line forwards in terms of expectations.

LeBrun saying on the Athletic that the market for Ferland has slown down. I wouldn't really mind flipping McCann over to the Canes to make a deal happen there, but Rutherford seems to really like the guy.

He'd be solid addition to the top 9...would also satisfy the thirst for a player in the top 6 or 9 that drops the gloves but can also produce for some posters around here...His cap hit is low and he can almost fit in under cap now as is...but someone would have to go....

Not a big fan of giving up a young guy with term like that so quick...but I think Ferland would help more this year than McCann.

I like the idea of buying low on McCann but I think the front office has a very wrong opinion of who McCann is and totally see him being miss-deployed at 3C and making our lineup worse. So I'm not against McCann in principle, I'm just anticipating the worst possible scenario for his usage and I'd rather have the 1.25 mil in cap space after this season over trying to force him into a 3C role he's not suited for.

Yeah I agree. When I was reading GMJR's comments about McCann I couldnt help but think he was accidentally talking about Bjugstad they way he was describing him and his expectations haha.
