Do we know if Austin Watson will be back for the playoffs? They were in need of a winger with some physicality to replace him. Boyle and McLeod are depth for a good team and can join the group without damaging chemistry they have.

Mcleod's family never even left Nashville after he was waived and picked up by the Rangers. Best thing ever for Cody.

Good for Cody, he will compete hard for them when in the lineup. aside from Watson issues Zac Rinaldo is out long term. Boyle and McLeod are fairly direct replacements.

This will be excellent for us come playoff time. Skate around them, score some goals, change before the scrum can start

Now there is a good reason to take Lemieux and Chiarot out of the lineup and put in Petan and Niku. 😁😁😁

8 goals and 2 assists for Lemieux now. Playing a full season or two under his belt, does he project to be a 18 to 20 ish goal scoring grinder? Higher, lower, .......why?

If Julien can get a mediocre Montreal lineup to play that good. I wonder what he could do for the Jets?

The only good takeaway from the game was the continued good play of the Jet's 4th line. Other than that Montreal deserves full credit for the win. I believe that this was the single best job of backchecking against the Jets all season. Central Division coaches will be watching game tapes and taking notes of this one.

On a side note. Buff looked quite rusty. Trouba invisible. Myers the only bright spot on defense.

....On to Ottawa.

Love coach Maurice. Nice way to reward last weeks first star of the week by putting him on the fourth line.

Laine stays on top power play unit? Great work Maurice!

This is a great observation! Little and Laine continue to prove they have no chemistry with one another. I am unsure if anyone remembers that last year, prior to Stastny coming on board Laine was having success with Copp. It would be fascinating to see how Laine performs with Appleton and Copp. I would like the Jets to try the following lines when Ehlers returns.

Ehlers-Scheifele-Wheeler
Connor-Roslovic-Little
Laine-Copp-Appleton/Perreault
Perreault/Lemieux-Lowry-Tanev

I love the idea of putting little on the rw. Raslovic is looking more and more like Ehlers with his deceiving speed and crosses. He is really progressing towards a true 2C, where Little has shown he is not. He constantly holds the puck too long, then forces it at his wingers toes. Laine cannot get a shot off the way Little is moving the biscuit. Raslovic can create space and time with his skating and Conner is a great passer as well. That's a win in my books.

How is the lineup mediocre by now?

Lower. Terrible stats, drags on linemates, and riding the NHL’s most apparent hot streak

Nope. He hasn’t been any good since the Cup win

Mo has been asleep at the wheel for a while now.

Roslovic deserves a promotion, but it can’t be at C. He’s shown himself to be an excellent NHL winger, and a subpar NHL centre. Leave him be on the wing.

As for Laine, you do not take your biggest weapon off the powerplay. You just don’t. The biggest error Maurice has made with Laine is not keeping him on the PP, it’s his refusal to put him with Scheifele

And yet he coaches a team that put 53 shots on the Jets that has one 20 goal scorer and no player that averages a point a game.

Here is a trade idea that wouldn't cost much and would do wonders for the team and maybe even help Laine.....

Get Matt Hendricks back from Minnesota.

( We don't have to dress him, just have him at practices and in the room)

Nope. Chevy won’t do that again. Everything I’ve heard suggests that was a 100% Maurice idea, and Chipman veto’d Chevy when he said no
