Schenn was 2nd star last night.
Two questions though.
Does Gudbranson get you Brassard alone?
Do Hutton and Brassard get you Trouba? - manvanfan
Brassard is 31 yrs old . UFA and has 9 goals . Gudbrandson is 27 RHD tough and has played for that team. He also has term at a respectable price. Some people here don't like him but Tallon does.
WPG have 23 mil in cap space next year and need to sign Laine Connor and a whole lot of other people. They have 11 people signed for next year.Truth is they can't afford Trouba. Hutton is a respectable Dman and getting better and has a cheap contract. |

Florida trade is fine with me. Brassard for Guddy is of pretty good value each way.
Winnipeg on the other hand. Winnipeg is trying to win a cup. You would think they would want to be adding without taking away from the team. The same way Toronto did.
Trading Trouba leaves the right side weak. |

My Speculation .
Cole Lind has had very positive feedback . He got an assist last night and according to Corey H other teams hate him. A nice agitator.
Zack and Gadjovich both got into fights last night Gads Tied Zack won.
Also from Cory RHD Chatfield is back and having a very good return . Loves to mix it up in front of his own net. He was thougt to be the replacement for Guddy but since then we also picked up Schenn who had two assists last night and has been playing very well. - VANTEL
Linds confidence is growing, no doubt - he's starting to look more like the player he was in junior. He is also playing much more than at the start of the season - last night he played with Gaunce and Gadjo, and his assist on the Dahlen goal was sweet.
I don't get the love for Chatfield - every time i see him he's so mediocre, nothing special, he has drive, he's fearless, but he makes a ton of mistakes and is like Guddy trying to get the puck out of his zone - at this is at the AHL level. Sautner is expected back soon but he's been out for almost 2 months. IF anyone deserves a call up its McEneny - but for some fawked up reason JB thinks otherwise.
But if Guddys traded - Schenn would probably get the call. |

I have always been a fan but after listening to Landeskog in after hours, I really want him on the Canucks. - Makita
What did he say that was so impressive? |

I am not a GM but the math does not add up. 26 mil based on 83 mil cap hit.
Laine will want somewhere around 10 mil? Not sure.
Connor 5 mil?
Trouba already makes 5.5 and even though he has said in the past he wants a trade would need a QO of 6 mil?
That leaves you 9 players with 5 mil . League minimal salary I believe is around 600 K . Teams can wish all the want but they have to fit in the guidelines of the cap. |

I am not sure about the Chatfield . Like I said that was from Cory H the team blogger. Benning did say Chatfields name when mentioning call ups. I agree with you , it should be McEneny (goal last night) or Sautner. |

Cap problems for next season are solved in the off season not when your team is 3rd in league standings and a legit Stanley cup contender this season |

I don't see it, they are a deep talented team now (Flames) and they're getting goaltending, just me but I don't want them to just make the playoffs, I want them to be in a position to compete for a Cup. - LeftCoaster
I’m not saying I want them to slip in to 8th and get hammered, but I am saying the team that does get in and plays the Flames... I think Jets take 1st in West, so they will play the 2nd wildcard. |

I thought Virtanen and Roussel played very well together. If you could get Jake to play that engaged every game it would solve some huge problems but most games you don't get that.
Motte had a solid game too last night. |

I would like them playing with Bo! That would be a very interesting second line in my opinion. Play them the rest of the year together , learn to play together. I find myself constantly surprised and impressed with Roussels game. He has a lot more talent then I had thought. Very reminiscent of Burrows for sure. |

Motte is easily one of my fav players this year - Roussel is getting up there too. IMO the more Virt plays with Rouse the better.
Motte is consistent, brings it every night. He was on Rantanen like glue, he's fast, beast on the forecheck, hits everything in sight, and then scored - pretty surprising for a guy that wasn't expected to make the team this year, late 4th rounder and think back to how upset some people were by this trade. well done JB |

well put - great signing
Now if only he could rub off a little on Sven and Goldy - I know they're completely different players but "what if"
Bo Rouse Virt could be a dynamite line - I'd personally like to see Gaudette, Rouse, Jake and keep Sven with Bo and get him a talented UFA like Lee, Stone, Skinner, Nelson....
lot of pipe dreaming going on in this post |

Would Baertschi and Leivo make Sutter less of a black hole or would Sutter just suck them in? |

If you put Bo with Rous and Virtsey for an entire season Bo would have career lows, and people would start comparing him to the Kesler black hole years where he couldn’t elevate his line mates. |

Yes, hopefully some of his skill will rub off on beagle.
Doubt it though, can't reach an old dog new tricks. |

Does he still play for the blues? I’d rather pry Tarasenko out of StL, if the rumors of him being available are true... |
